Lebanon Government employee accused of spying for Israel

Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr accused senior Lebanese Telecoms ministry employee Milad Khalil Eid of collaborating with the enemy ( Israel) , engaging in plots , providing technical information in his capacity as head of international communications at the Ministry of telecommunications and meeting Mossad officers in several places outside Lebanon.

Saqr referred Eid to the investigating judge

Based on articles 274-278, if convicted Eid could face the death sentence

More than 70 people have been arrested on suspicion of spying for the Israeli Mossad since April 2009, when the government launched a nationwide crackdown on alleged rings.

    It is kind funny to me they are finding all these Israelies spies, but they are never find or accusing someone as a syrian spy, weired.

      Almost all of Lebanon’s politicians are supporters of Syria or Syria-leaning centrists. What spies does Syria need in Lebanon in order to receive information about the Lebanese government? People should think before they speak.

    syria doesnt wanna destroy lebanon. they already had their chance. syria is opening embassies now and i’m very sure that with the unity agreement they’re most likely gonna open the telecom industry to each other so syria doesnt need spies. its got enough supporters in the lebanese gov’t. ask berri, hariri, jumblatt, aoun, jemayel its not like i’m inventing this.

      joey read my statement my friend. i said they had their chance. in the current situation when the elitists are opening embassies in both countries, one needs to see the vhange thats happening and dispell the history as being just that – its gone. a new beginning is on the horizon and it would be absurd for syria to invade lebanon when its embassy is in the heart of beirut.

      different tactics are being played now. lebanon is already seeking for the demarcation of borders which will outline correctly what belongs to syria and what belongs to lebanon cos syria has hinted before that it has the proper paperwork that shows the actual borders for the shebaa farms as being lebanee so they still need to present those.

      remember joey illi fat mat habeebi. i just dont cry over spilt milk. all these everyone seems to mention i really dont know who they are and i have no allegiance to any party or religion so, i cant exactly have an emotional closeness to anybody who was killed. all i can do is say allah yir7amoon.

    Joey you’re right to some degree but remember right or wrong syria was asked to enter lebanon and in all of history all foreign armies stationed in foreign countries commit war violations and un-necessary killings so why would syria have been any different, again i’m not in any way conditioning syrias actions in lebanon but that’s what happens in circumstances like that. If you go you iraq or afghanistan i’m sure the locals there would tell you of horrible unnecassaryatrocities & bombings committed by the nato coalition.

    Israel has never claimed Lebanon as its territory. Israel decided not to try and control all of Lebanon and withdrew to a buffer zone in the south. Israel allowed the SLA to disband and withdrew unilaterally.
