About 20,000 Israelis demonstrated in Tel Aviv on Saturday against government corruption and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who is under criminal investigation over allegations of abuse of office.

The demonstration was by far the largest of weekly anti-corruption protests sparked by corruption allegations against Netanyahu, who denies any wrongdoing.

The four-term leader is suspected of involvement in two cases. The first involves receiving gifts from wealthy businessmen and the second involves negotiating a deal with a newspaper owner for better coverage in return for curbs on a rival daily

Saturday’s protest was prompted by a draft law expected to be ratified by parliament next week, which would bar police from publishing its findings in two investigations of Netanyahu.

A Reuters cameraman and Israeli media put the number of demonstrators at about 20,000. Police would not provide an official estimate.

Critics say the draft law is a blatant attempt to protect Netanyahu and keep the public in the dark about his investigation. Supporters of the legislation say it is meant to protect suspects’ rights.

Netanyahu has said he has no interest in promoting personal legislation but he has not ordered its two sponsors, close confidants in his Likud party, to withdraw the bill.

Netanyahu has described himself as a victim of a political witch hunt and said of the cases against him: “There will be nothing because there is nothing.”

If charged, he would come under heavy pressure to resign or could call an election to test whether he still had a mandate.

Netanyahu indictment won’t save Israeli democracy.

A Haaretz headline crowed that “Netanyahu’s countdown has begun.” Opposition figures such as Labor chairman Avi Gabbay said, “the Netanyahu era has ended.”

However you as Netanyahu’s are defiant and insisted that Netanyahu’s government would last its full term – through November 2019.

          • vs

We are All Different, Diversity. Bibi comparatively is angel even corrupted by leftist “peace process” a bit. I agree only all politics is Folly and Evil, but Bibi, hated by Haaretz and leftists Co. is less evil. Please read my cenzored .txt about Putin Death Dream (.jpg) and see Alternative Math video i posted. Every leader is important man or woman but changeable and Bibi and Trump are no danger to people like Putin or Assad or Kim

You must be aware that Netanyahu’s party and government finally express what has long been implied: rejects the premise that the Palestinians will ever have their own state.

Not long time ago, the Central Committee of the Likud parti, responsible for the amendment of the party’s constitution, unanimously adopted a resolution to extend Israeli sovereignty to the settlements of all West Bank settlements, which actually attach them to Israel.
In other words there is no status quo, only Greater Israel.

West Bank of what? River? Sea? Are peoples here westbankers? Please stop Your “international” BS

The big crowd in support of Netanyahu’s receives appropriate treatment – police spray the ultra-Orthodox protesters and a Palestinian passerby with putrid “skunk” water, a foul-smelling liquid most often used to suppress Palestinian demonstrations, is now finding a new target: Netanyahu’s ultra-Orthodox suporters.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord” (Luke 13:34–35).

    Life under Occupation in Hebron
The Israelis protest against Netanyahus, they should protest against the Israeli soldiers behavior too.
Israeli soldiers arrested two Palestinian boys for allegedly throwing stones. even though the only soldier who could identify them admits that he can’t identify them….

On 31 January 2018, Israeli soldiers arrested two brothers, 12 and 13 years old, in Hebron’s al-Hareqa neighborhood, near which the settlement of Kiryat Arba was built.
The soldiers claimed that the boys had thrown stones at the settlement’s fence.
The soldiers took the two boys to a nearby military base, where they kept them for about two hours.
When they released the boys, the soldiers threatened the boys’ family that should stones be thrown again at the settlement’s fence, they would return to raid their home and arrest the boys.
    Shame on you IDF

Shame on you Niemals corrupted by liberal fundamentalism. Thrown stones can kill people. Settlement is racist terminology for Jewish community in Judea

    New trouble for Benjamin Netanyahu.
However, this time it does not affect him directly, this time two of his former employees were arrested.

One week after a prosecution for corruption against Netanyahu, he is pressured in another affair.
His confidants were arrested on Sunday for corruption investigations into Israel’s largest telecommunications company Beseq, according to Israeli police.
Nir Hefetz, a longtime press spokesman and media adviser to the Netanyahu family, as well as the former director of the Ministry of Communications, Schlomo Filber.

The majority shareholder of “Beseq”, Schaul Elovitsch, was also temporarily detained. Schaul Elovitsch is a friend of the Netanyahu according to media reports and has already been suspected of having managed several million dollars in a deal with the cable company “Yes”. Elovich’s wife, son and two members of Besek’s management were also arrested.

Talk about a corrupt band of people who do everything to stay at power.

No wonder that Trump and Netanyahu are so good friends
Among other things, the Israeli police investigate the suspicion of fraud and obstruction of the judiciary. At least no Russian collusion….

According to media reports Netanyahu and his confidants Beseq and its nationally known news site Walla economic advantages have procured.
Accordingly, in return, there was a positive coverage of Netanyahu and his family.
Netanyahu himself is not charged in this case. He and his wife Sara, however, could be interrogated according to Israeli media.

It have been said that Netanyahu have met with the publisher of the Israeli newspaper “Jediot Ahronot” a collusion to achieve a more favorable reporting.
    However Netanyahu rejects all allegations.
“There are tremendous efforts to maintain the left monopoly in the media,” he wrote on Facebook….

The loop is drawn harder around Sara Netanyahu neck.
Sara Netanyahu is accused of abusing NIS 360,000 in state funds. Charges filed after the Prime Minister’s wife refuse to confess and return significant amount of money allegedly diverting State attorney filed an indictment against Sara Netanyahu Thursday for alleged misuse of state funds.

In addition to the fraud case, Sara and Benjamin Netanyahu have also been questioned as part of the Bezeq telecommunications giant graft probe. The case involves suspicions Prime Minister Netanyahu advanced regulations benefiting Bezeq owner Shaul Elovitch in exchange for positive coverage from Bezeq’s Walla news site.
