Saudi King invites Iran’s President to Islamic summit in Mecca

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has sent an invitation to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to attend an emergency Islamic summit in Mecca later this month, according to Saudi state news agency (SPA).

SPA reported that the invitation was delivered by the Saudi Ambassador to Iran Mohammed al-Kilabi during a meeting with the Head of the Presidential Office Rahim Mashaie.

The Saudi king has called for “extraordinary Islamic solidarity meeting to ensure … unity during this delicate time as the Muslim world faces dangers of fragmentation and sedition,” according to the Saudi Gazette .

The crisis in Syria is expected to top the agenda at the meeting that will be held on August 15-16 in the holy city.

A Saudi diplomat told Arab News Sunday that leaders of the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have been invited to attend the summit, adding that OIC foreign ministers would meet on August 13 to prepare for the summit.

OIC Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu told the newspaper that in addition to the situation in Syria, the plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar would figure high on the summit’s agenda.

I have no problems with the Saudi’s as long as they act in the interest of all Arabs and stand up for all Arabs and Muslims…. But if they want to be evil and cause problems and murder in the middle east then that’s a problem…. They need to stop arming extremists from Syria Iraq and Yemen… Today Al Qaeda bombed Sunni Muslims in Yemen 25 dead…

As much as I would like to believe that this Saudi dog has good intentions, I cant but be sceptical. They have fought against us including the Christians for 14 hundred years. I dont think this meeting will do much.

Empty words and worthless meetings, as long as you’re smiling to each other but planning to stab each other in the back, there is no use of these meetings. Your own religion prohibits you from dealing with each other and be honest with each other. Another futile effort for public relations’ sake….This umma’s fate is more and more of war, killing and deception You’ll never get out of this vicious circle.
What Assad is doing right now in Syria, is exactly what the prophet of Islam did with his ennemies, eliminating them! This is what exactly the Iranians, the Saudis, the Qataris, etc…. would do if they faced revolts against their own governments. Tunisia did not do that because they are so close to Europeans and “civilization” that Zin el Abidin prefered to leave fast and avoid a massacre and destruction of his country (he had more conscience than the prophet of Islam. In Egypt, the country is so much under world wide scrutiny, that Mubarak did not dare to start killing his ennemies (although he tried on a small scale), and eventually yielded to public and international pressure. However, the rest of the Arabs, their fate is going to be exactly like Gaddafi’s, because this is what their prophet taught them; kill or be killed, so they are acting exactly how their “God” taught them in the Kuran.

Then Goooooood Luck with your empty meetings “your majesty”.
