ET409: Qana not qualified for rescue operations, says council

national council for scientific research logoLebanon’s National Council for Scientific Research said in response to criticism by OTV that the Qana ship is not qualified to be used in rescue operations and is only good for marine scientific research .

OTV which is owned by MP Michel Aoun criticized the government for using U.S. ships to search for the victims and debris of the crashed Ethiopian airlines flight ET409 and questioned why Qana ship was not used instead for such operations .

The council said what was reported in the media about Qana’s capabilities contains many fallacies.
