Secretary General of the Antonine University Father Fadi Fadel apologized in an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station on Thursday for the offensive comments Antonine University Deputy Vice President for Cultural Affairs Pascale Lahoud reportedly made about former Prime Ministers Rafik Hariri and Salim Hoss.
father Fadel voiced his respect for Rafik Hariri and praised his achievements and stressed that Lahoud ‘s comments do not express the opinion of the university.
Father Fadel also announced that the university would no longer host a conference on Lebanese premiership.
Earlier today , PM Saad Hariri‘s media office issued a statement in which it said the premier has canceled his sponsorship of the conference . Several ministers and MPs, including former PM Fouad Siniora, withdrew from the conference in light of the comments.
