UN appeals for humanitarian aid to Syria to feed 1.5 million people

The United Nations launched an appeal to the international community to send humanitarian aid to Syria. The aid is aimed at feeding 1.5 million Syrian people although, “for the time being, they don’t see the need” for humanitarian corridors or free zones.

Valerie Amos, the head of UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, affirmed that almost 3 million Syrians (out of a population of 20.5 million) are suffering the consequences of the conflict that has been underway since March. . .

    Send the food to the ones in Lebanon … it won’t be refused.

      Unfortunately Hezbollah would and will steal it all for the great “Zionist just in case.” Thats the problem, we give tons of food away but like the Muslims in Africa they kill over it, and the Pals steal it from each other. It sounds awful, but maybe a few million Muslims dying because they were too busy committing terror to feed their own people might be a good moral lesson to enter the age of enlightenment already, your 200 years late to the party.(Not all, but a d*mn good chunk of them.)

        Certainly noted that ‘Al-Sishkabob’ (super-muslims) in Somalia wouldn’t let any of the world ‘aid’ reach their own dying citizens. And then they came across the border to the refugee camps in Kenya to kidnap workers back to plant fields to feed their soulless ‘troops’ (who can hold guns but not a shovel) – because no-one left there in their ‘fiefdom’ is healthy enough to do it. 
        You are right … there is NO logic in ANY of it … but it could be attempted … they are starving now, and the Lebanese who attempt to help them are not exactly the most well-off either. If Hezzy’s steal from refugees, there will be eternal shame.

          Addendum on Al-Shabob from Al-Jazzera: New Update.
          Accusations levied against the aid agencies included the misappropriation of funds, collection of data, and work with “international bodies” to promote secularism, immorality and the “degrading values of democracy in an Islamic country”.
            (Gotta love that last line …. the killers talking about degrading value? Of what? Life??)
          Among those banned were UNICEF, the World Health Organisation, UNHCR, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the Danish Refugee Council, German Agency For Technical Co-operation (GTZ), Action Contre la Faim, Solidarity, Saacid and Concern.
