In an exclusive interview with HARDtalk, the French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has said that President Assad has used chemical weapons against the Syrian people in recent weeks.
He said barrels containing chlorine have been dropped from helicopters to kill people.
Mr Fabius has been in London to meet other foreign ministers to discuss what should be done about the continued instability and violence in Syria.
He tells HARDtalk’s Sarah Montague, he believes an early strike against President Assad’s regime might have changed the course of the Syrian civil war.
