5 Killed In Blast at Iran War Film Shoot

iran war film shootAt least five people have been killed and several seriously hurt in Iran in an explosion at a filming location.

The blast happened some 35km (21 miles) south of the capital Tehran, as explosives were being transported to a shoot on the Iraq-Iran war (1980-1988).

The head of special effects, actors and members of the production team were among the dead, state media reported.

One crew member was quoted as saying live explosives were used because of an embargo on the import of dummy props.

“The explosives are of the kind used in war zones. We had no choice but to use this type of explosive as the import of such material used for movies is banned by Iran,” Abbass Shoghi was quoted by ISNA as saying.

One Iranian news agency is reporting that a sixth person has died in hospital.

Filming for Meerajiha, directed by Masoud Dehnamaki, began in September last year at the Sacred Defense Cinematic Town, a location where Iranian war films are usually made.

The victims included Ali Akbar Ranjbar, the managing director of the film set, and Javad Sharifi Rad, director of special effects, Mehr news agency reported.

One of the actors told Mehr that explosives had accidentally detonated next to a vehicle belonging to Mr Sharifi Rad.

The film’s premiere had been planned for the Fajr Film Festival in February.

      And I bet you’ve been told that the Sunni’s we persecuted not the Shites. And that the Shites are the ones who started this war with help from the west. I’m betting you were told this during one of the lectures that also explained what being a martyr is and what the benefits are.

        I’d prefer not to get into a sectarian argument that doesn’t end, and so I would like to leave each to their own. I hope one day day there will be no sects , only what Allah called us in the quran, “Muslimeen,”. This is the only way to achieve peace.
        All I know is our current leaders are not following the Islamic principles and they are no where near worthy to lead the umma. The Sunnis realise this but the shites don’t.
        From what I can see they are only interested in capitalising on the opportunity for power through Syria , Iraq , and afghan.
        The uprisings reflect that, but unfortunately . There are still some stubborn Assheads out there.
        I take it you a different opinion on this.

          Each to their own you say, Well your own enjoys blowing other people up, and even if all the earths people where belonging to your sect sunni muslem then you really believe that is when peace will be achieved. Some people might say you have rocks in your head I dont think you have anything in that void, definatley in need of divine assistance.

          If the Sunnis realize this, why haven’t they risen against the terrorist criminals ruling Saudia Arabia? An embarrassment to Islam is what they are, the protectors of Mecca and Medina.

          Ruling through the perfect brilliant Sharia. The Sharia that punishes someone five years in prison for stealing a sheep , and a man who rapes and murders his five year old child eight years in prison. A place where you can lose a hand for stealing, but can’t be executed for murdering your children or wife. A place that is so backwards it thinks women driving a car is haram, then come up with an absurd excuse that it will harm her ovaries. Shame shame shame!

            were the shiites who blow themselves up in the American Embassy in Beirut? didn’t they also blew themselves up in the marine baracks in Beirut? The marines were helping at the time the Shiites and one AMerican marine stood on top of Israeli tank and Shiites hailed him as a hero. Until the germ Khomeini came and incited the shiites against the american presence in Beirut..

            third, let’s talk about those chieldren for a while, can you compare the numbers?
            is it my fault you care about one pali kids more then you care about 100 others just because they were killed by other muslims and not a jew??
