Israel boosts defenses along Syria, Lebanon borders

iron dome - israelBeirut, Lebanon – Israel has deployed a third Iron Dome missile defense system near its northern borders with Syria and Lebanon, security sources said on Tuesday.

The Iron Dome systems have been deployed alongside a U.S.-supplied Patriot battery, which has been stationed in the north for years, as Israelis on the alert for weapons leaking out of the Syrian civil war that could be turned on the Jewish state.

Two Iron Dome batteries, which use radar-guided interceptor missiles to shoot down short-ranged rockets, had already been deployed there.

Israel has said it could use military action to prevent chemical weapons and advanced arms from Syria slipping into the hands of militant groups as a result of the civil war there.

It declined to comment on whether it was responsible for bombing a Syrian arms complex last week.

Israel has maintained official silence over the raid, but its defense minister said the incident showed that Israel was serious about preventing the flow of heavy weapons into Lebanon.

Syria’s ally Iran said Israel would regret the air strike, but did not say whether either country planned a military response.

A military spokesman declined to give details on the Iron Dome deployment, but described it as routine.

    It makes one wonder. How much is this costing Israel? must be a small
    fortune spent all round just to protect itself from surrounding
    countries. What a way to live in constant state of siege. There must be
    a better way to go on in life. Furthermore for how long can they keep
    this up? They must ask themselves at one point or their future
    generations as to why are they so disliked by their neighbours. You
    don’t need to be philosophers, scientists, poets before the simple
    question is asked by their children and grand children. They can also
    see “5 broken cameras” to get a clue.

      Is the neighbors situation much better you have to ask? as Israelis they can travel from all over the world and enjoy the country ,especially after Isreal built the walls ,go wherever they want and spak freely even spit on their PM without any fear,Israel is number one exporter in the world from medicine to electronic to grain and so on ,regardless of the fact they are occupiers of the land . You are talkign how long they could go on, what really the big deal about their neighbors dislike, you make me laugh really, the wars between sunni and shiites from iraq to syria to lebanon shows that dislike (mild world to use 🙂 ) between the arabs themselves go far beyong the arab dislike to israelis,I mean am talking about beheading in Syria , just in Lebanon sword were used to kill Lebanese soldiers , matter of fact the past Arab wars against isreal should be considered a tango dance in comparison to what they do to each other. Nasrallah hate to the Sunni made him blow Hariri to pieces beyond recognition and everyday he’s still plotting to kill and Kill. My friend look at Aleppo and Homs pictures and you’ll get confused if it is not pictures from WW2 Stalingrad. The Arab are ok with Israel Qatar have little Israeli bureau, Isreali Merchandise enter Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries from Jordan under different names , just an example most of the air conditioning split system in the arab world and lebanon are made in isral to your knowledge. As I speak to you now many Syrian today will tell you that no Isreali would have done to their country what Assad did,when you talk about dislike you should think twice about the Arabs and their hate ,tribal, savage behavior ( am a Lebanese , and refuse categorically to be named Arab, as Arab is a language not a race, Arabs are of Caucasian race,with exception to some of the mixtures from the invading moslems to India and Africa ) how about the dislike for the Christians in the middle east that goes beyond any dislike to the Jews , the moslem day by day prove that their hate to the Christians of the middle east the real land owner of Syria and Iraq and Lebanon is reaching a inhumane and shameful level. Iraqi Sunni and Shiites contributed to the exodus of over 700,000 Iraqis, Christian who remained in Iraq are on daily basis persecuted , asked for ransom , kidnapped and Christian women raped ( thanks to Bush ).In Syria now 200,000 christian in Aleppo, 100 remain there as per Annanahar newspaper. in Iran a jew is treated way better than a Christian . Mursi of Eypt banned the greeting of Christmas in Arabic, you can use french or english but not arabic as the arabic is the language of the Koran , not knowing the idiot that the chritstians are the one who kept the Arabic Language alive during Ottoman rules , also he should know better that the word Quran origin is assyrian and not arabic . I think Israel is sure worried about possibilities of Nuclear war and Hizbollah but am sure they can handle with the help of the world,in the mean time the dislike of the so called arabs, moslems btween each other and their blood thirst to kill and live by the sword since 1400 years are making people like you and me immigrate and for the many to wish to leave and for many inside like syria now to wish that they were never born in such ugly countries !!!!!! Look at Lebanon just 50 years ago was kind of Pradise and now it is a i hell!!!! with mountain stripped of its beauty, garbage hit you just after you get out of the airport , unsafe place even in the sirport itself you could be kidnapped and taken for ransom or killed , talk about dislike the list has no endddddddddddddddddddd
