The Lebanese Supreme Judicial Council, which handles political and state security crimes approved on Tuesday Justice Minister Shakib Qortbawi’s proposal to name Judge Nabil Wehbe as a judicial investigator in the assassination of Internal Security Forces intelligence chief Wissam al-Hassan, National News Agency reported.

This decision comes after PM Nagib Mikati referred Al Hassan’s case to the Supreme Judicial Council.

The assassination of Al Hassan, blamed by many on the Syrian regime, has stirred up sectarian violence in Lebanon where people are deeply divided between supporters and opponents of President Bashar Assad’s government in Damascus. Syria has intervened heavily in Lebanese affairs over the past decades and is blamed for the deaths of many prominent critics and anti-Syrian political figures.

  1.  Well, the Saudis, Israelis, the US, and others who are trying to
bring down the Syrian regime must have a hard time believing their good
fortune. Here Assad and his Hezbollah allies plant a car bomb which ends
up blowing up in their faces. How stupid. How incompetent.

    How convenient.

    Wait a minute…..
