Syria's SNC: Aoun is like Assad

Syrian National Council member Mehye al-Deen al-Lathiqi said Tuesday night that “Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s hope to remain [in power] is similar Michel Aoun’s hope to rule Lebanon.”

“The dream of the Syrian people is to get rid of this tyrant as soon as possible,” Lathiqi said in reference to Assad in an interview with Al-Jazeera television.

Michel Aoun , the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement was defeated by the Syrian army over 20 years ago but now he is a staunch supporter of the Syrian regime.

Aoun is a strong ally of the Iranian and Syrian backed Hezbollah militant shiite group.

Lathiqi added that Hezbollah “is ruining the region [in order] to serve the interests of Iran.”

    I see Mehye al Deen al-Lathiqi was the ass hole yesterday who had a fist fight with Joseph Abou Fadel on Faisal Al Qassem’s show at Al Jazeera.

    What a shame for both of them.

       Sebouh, I agree with you that Al-Lathiqi  was the provoker of  this fight,but I blame Abou Fadel for falling for it ,and loosing control of himself. He should have just walked off the set,and the message would have been very telling. Definitely, it is shameful to debate in this manner. 
      I think it is typical of most Arab debates,where  , disrespect ,insults ,and punches are just ” tools of convincing”.
      If you look closely at some of the exchanges that occur at this very forum, you can just imagine what would happen if some of the commentators were sitting in the same room.
      Shame on both of them.

        I agree with you. I have rarely seen a civil dialogue or a logical debate in our region. No matter what is exchanged, each party comes in with rigid thoughts and beliefs and is not willing to listen to the other or state their disagreement in a civil professional manner. Lately the anger displayed in front of cameras tells you how uninhibited and shameless politicians have become in following their animal instincts. I think people should withdraw their support of all parties and all ‘leaders’ without exception because no politician is really working for their interest or even concerned with their wellbeing. These TV programs are not worth our time in watching either…

        prophet, i  googled what you and sebouh are refering to on al jazeera , being that i am  stressed ,depressed and starved for entertainment  i found the arab jerry springer moment  a distraction and funny, any more trashy moments you can refer me to? lol i could not understand  much of it but the good old sharmoota word was loud and clear,lol

        i was suprised for seeing Joseph for the first time like this…he normally is a calm person…

        yet again when a person changed into being an Assadi shabi7, anything could have happened.

    For your information Mehye al-Deen al-Lathiqi whoever you are, Aoun does rule Lebanon. I like to see him not only a dictator but an Evil DICTATOR so he can clean up Lebanon from all the collaborators.

    leoooooo, have a sence of humor brother.
    my wife left me, my dog got hit by  a truck, my hair fell off last week, and i was trying fo fix the shoe on my horse and he kicked me in the face and i lost 4 of my teeth. pretty soon i will be scratching flees. but on a good note if what  you are saying is true i will make some pop corn so i can enjoy the show…..love you like a sister.

        lol hannibal, i forgot to tell leo that my mom is a jew and my dad is a salifite,both of them call me a pathetic loser and wish they never adopted me from the orphanage. the only good thing That ever happened to me is marrying rich but  left me for antother woman and she took everything back including the ferrari which i see her driving with a new lic plate that says  WAS HIS 🙁 🙁 🙁

    For us to be like them we would have to be supporting the Israelis when they commit atrocities against Southerners.
    They know we would not stoop to this level & this kills them.

    Reality is Even this comparison is not 100%. Israel has not killed in years as many Palestinians Lebanese or Syrians as the Syrian Regime has killed just of its own people in the last 11 months.

    Syrians will be freed & Lebanese soon after & there is absolutely nothing pro regimers can do about it.
