Five people have been arrested after intruders gained access to the roof at the Syrian embassy in central London.

They were detained after three men were seen above the front door of the building in Belgrave Square in Knightsbridge at 13:55 BST on Saturday.

Officers were already on the scene and there was no breach of security inside the embassy, Scotland Yard said.

Those who were held are now being questioned at a police station in central London.

The Metropolitan Police would not give further details about who was arrested or whether they had been staging a protest.

Well there you go … in Syria the state sponsors the attacks on Embassies, and in London the attackers get arrested.
