Future bloc slams Aoun over energy bill and for defending karam

The Future bloc slammed MP Michel Aoun’s Change and Reform bloc on Tuesday accusing it of “blackmailing the country .”

In a reference to the energy bill proposing to transfer $1.2 billion in funds to the Energy Ministry, the Future bloc said in a statement that Aoun’s bloc seeks “to avoid the supervision of Arab and international funds that give Lebanon soft loans.”

The bloc also slammed Aoun , who is also the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) , or defending former Brigadier General Fayez Karam, a senior FPM official who was recently sentenced to jail for collaborating with Israel.

“We question the position of the FPM and its ally, Hezbollah, which is remaining silent concerning the FPM’s blackmail and defense of an Israeli agent.”

“How come Karam was only sentenced to two years in prison, while other collaborators are at least sentenced to 20 years?” The statement asked

Hezbollah reportedly knew that Karam, was collaborating with Israel from the moment he was arrested last year , an Arab diplomat told Al-Balad newspaper in an interview published last October 22.

“Hezbollah did not bring up the issue of Karam publicly because it took into account its alliance with FPM leader MP Michel Aoun,” the diplomat said.

Karam and Aoun went into exile in France following Aoun’s defeat by the Syrian army in 1990 and both returned to Lebanon in May 2005 , 11 days following the withdrawal of the Syrian army from Lebanon.

The Future bloc commended the Internal Security Forces (ISF) –Information Branch for uncovering spy networks in the country.

  1. They slam you with no respect to your functionality
With every decision you improve humanity
They were in power for 20 years never improved the electricity
Now they come up with excuses to attack your personality
The more they attack the stronger you get no matter the difficulty

  3. By the end the people want electricity, so give him the benefit of the doubt, I mean I don’t trust the fathe rin law and the  son in law,but hey , Hariri the father and the son and Seniora and Karami couldn’t bring it , Maybe Hezbollah will do something good to let us forgive their sins .
Lebanon need wind turbine + solar panels at the mountains and we could add some fuel stations  ,but we need to avoid pollution like the Zouk .Solar and Wind Turbine is the future, especially when Lebanon climate is becoming more and more like a desert ( thanks to the government permits to build in mountains and green zones and the educated Lebanese who eventually will not leave a tree standing ) and we could have almost 320 days of full sun !!

Indeed. Might come to that … and at least no snow for the water either in summer.
But how to find the money in the first place seems to be a problem now anyway, let alone having any plan for it.People stealing electricity, and even stealing the wires for the copper value, doesn’t help for sure. No ‘united’ feelings about that one in Lebanon … no-one dares to say ‘Hello Police … someone is cutting wires here.’  Burning fossil fuel is not the way, even for the old fossils in cabinet who want to fight over a sliver of ocean ‘rights’ to pollute. And ALL the new babies means new needs for those homes with no light or water now. Best to give everyone with a house roof some solar panels and hook them up to a grid for the country … but then there’s the idiots with guns to crack them every chance they get to take some shots.
Nothing will get better, but they can at least point fingers and say ‘SPY, SPY’. That should help too.
