Hezbollah rules out discussion of its arms during dialogue talks

Share:

Hezbollah’s Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Saturday that his party is ready to engage in dialogue to draft a national defense strategy, but ruled out any discussions over Hezbollah’s arms.

“We are ready to discuss a national defense strategy… but not to talk about the arms of the Resistance that is an honor for everyone,” a statement issued by Hezbollah quoted him as saying.

Qassem also said that his party does not make the decision on “war and peace,” adding that “Israel is the one always readying for war.”

“There will be no [near] Israeli war [against Lebanon] because the enemy fears Hezbollah’s deterrence [capacities].”

Qassem also reiterated that the UN-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), which is probing former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri’s 2005 assassination, is “politicized from head to toe.”

And YOU are the reason Israel NEEDS to be always ” .. readying for war.”

Ok, ok … The Lebanese army will have the Military weapons … and you guys can keep 22-gage rifles and shiny swords for annual parades of your resistance to ‘peace’ and building permits.

I dont feel too honored about your weapons. those weapons are the only reason I dont let my family come visit when I have work in Lebanon. I dont know when you will decide its time for another divine victory so its safer in Los Angeles or any other place but Lebanon for them….. Also your time is limited and once Assad is gone or given a choice between you and his regime youre going to be digging your own graves…. Since when is a party that only allows one sect of one religion representing Lebanon? At least have a few christian leaders and some sunni and druz then allow all to join HA and maybe will will have faith. Keeping the weapon for the Shia only shows your long term goal is to turn Lebanon into a shia islamic state like iran otherwise you would have no problem allowing others into your party……

fear your Creator, you animal. you are hiding behind Religion to cover for your party’s immoral acts.

here is another person who deserves to be hanged in public for his stance.

resistance arms? what resistance? a persian resistance who is willing to topple the country and whoever is in it to save its weapons is no honourable one. that’s a fact, pple like you know for sure.

When war comes they will use these people to hide behind, thats how much they care for the people zero.

The other camps need to ready themself so when Isreal hits they will use that time to surprise and take Lebanon back.
I hope war does not happen but it is the only way Lebanon will go back to its people.

These thugs need to be stopped

they are misguided because even if they are poor and hungry [which i doubt…they really should look at tripoli and how pple are living there…some pple are living in cemetries!] they should always stand up with the truth/what’s right.

in fact if these pple know that HA are thugs but they say, what can i do i am hungry i need money, they carry more burden and responsibility for HA’s disgusting behaviour.

in another words, they should make tawkeel on their Creator and be happy with what they got and stand up for the truth/what’s right because only then their situations will change for the better in every aspect of their lives….practical and spiritual.

that is why i disagree with you in one point there. these pple are more then happy to be ‘used”…they are not complaining…they should be punished for keeping silent on evil.
this way no tonly does not build a just nation, it encourages evil to strive and be more bold in its practices which will create chaos, violance and corruption.

positivity or being active to change wrongs is what we should be doing [it’s our fitra] while making tawkeel on our Creator, is what gets results, certainly NOT negativity/passivity.

Anatar2011 … We COULD see … the complaints hushed by fear …
And in Tripoli … those poor ignored by Hezzbolla … but their guns amid the adult hunger … fed when possible under the tents set up by a Church to feed them near the shore … the baby dropped in the street by the starving mother near an orphanage begun by a Christian, who herself succumbed to the stress of life in Lebanon … some collect day-old-bread for them, and there is some input from international agencies for children … hope for them only to a certain age … we look around and see attempts to live with 4 hrs of electricity a day … police all women are afraid of … ‘pride’ in a small catch of fish held up with a toothy smile by a man with 10 children who must learn to survive on a street – never educated to avoid this burden … and more …
A friend in Tripoli warns about life in the Big City. “Be careful of your wallet in Beirut.”
Another friend in Beirut says about Tripoli .. “It’s another country. Be careful.”
Neither has ever seen much of anywhere else.
But each will proudly state  “I am Lebanese.”

          WHERE is Lebanon?
If it is not in the hearts and minds of it’s people, it is not a country.

i agree with you that every lebanese, educated or not, old or young, working or not SHOUlD have what’s best for lebanon in his/her heart.

i would also add though, that each and everyone of these lebanese sees what’s best from their own point of view. so one cannot say oh but these do not have lebanon in their heart.

but where does one find a common line that everybody agrees on that translates to a “better society therefore a better lebanon”. perhaps even the word ‘better” is also vague but i hope i am understood here.

in my opinion, this line is where what we call ‘taqwa” lies. will explain it further down…

Hunger, poverty and even fear SHOULD not justify the ‘turning of the eyes’ from evil actions of those who do believe HA’s actions are wrong but they have to accept them for some reason.

it is much more honourable and better for lebanese society [or any society] if its pple stood with what’s right even if that meant their life is on the line. [take the example of syrian pple next door atm].
this is what we call “taqwa”. standing up for what’s right and disallowing evil is what works best. even if that meant they will die. because in order for the truth to prevail, sacrifices must be made….standing in a wishy washy state, saying well i do not agree with their ways but i have to go on and tolerate their actions because they are feeding me, is bringing the downfall of any society prosper lest lebanese society.

when these pple think that saving their neck and feeding their tummys and or their children’s tummys is more important then standing with the truth, then they are going to be responsible for the results of their actions.

taqwa is what eliminates evil. it is what’s moral, honourable and more then anything more spiritual to the betterment of Lebanon.
if these things can be noted in every lebanese’s behaviour towards each other then Lebanon is indeed in the hearts of every lebanese.

i am inclined to be thinking on the same lines as you are but other poster [5thDrawer] suggested the best solution is to think green….meaning not to be involved in violance but negotiate things.
although i agree with negotiating but one cannot negotiate with another when that other cannot be trusted…
perhaps 5thDrawer would add some of his two cents worth.

hmmm …. where is that two cents … can I negotiate with it?  (I have an hour only 😉

I think the beginning of ‘the change’ was not so much with the idea of negotiating … the ‘greens’ already know the ‘other’ cannot be trusted. I believe they reached the point you mention about ‘taqwa’ … standing up for what is right.
          They put themselves ‘out there’.

Perhaps they do not think so much of taqwa … perhaps it is because they could go no furthur down.
My point was they do it with no guns, no protection, little chance of success, and do not promote violence against any. But it is ‘right’ to do. It’s time for ‘the change’. This is something that has happened in humans in many parts of the world – at many times throughout history – that moment of ‘truth’ in the mind. Prepared to meet their ‘maker’ (no particular religious consideration) they stand and SHOUT.

When the soldier faces sure defeat, he stands to accept it … yet may get in a last word. Here are the starving, the oppressed, the weak – nowhere to go and no hope for a future.  Like The Man Of La Mancha they will tilt at the windmill to make their point, and get in the ‘word’ they want to be heard.  One man reached that point in Tunisia. He died to make his last statement of TRUTH. Look at how that woke up a world.

Of course that has unsettled the ones who hold what they think is power. And they might think they are ‘right’ to have it. But it seems many are beginning to notice how that power works against them … against MOST people … indeed, against Allah/God/Yaweh/etc.
          It is time for taqwa.
Which I do not see needing the gun.  (Not that I have never held one … I think it’s not the correct option here – now.)
But perhaps I am a fool. Perhaps we are all fools. Each of us should make our own decisions. Freely.

Seems ‘arms’ is a problem. Switch from discussing arms. Maybe they would be willing to ‘dialogue’ on:
          Premise: Disbanding Hezzbolla.
Debate would be based on the fact there is no longer a need for resistance, and Lebanon has a national army for protection.
Positive (for Liban) arguments allowed only, please.
      1. Warriors may return to working regular jobs.
      2. Nashrallah may return to preaching and/or retirement – to enjoy holidays on tanned-bodied Greek beaches, and writing his memoirs or moments of wonder; such  as ‘Cave moments with Allah.’  or  ‘Buddies Three.’ … a light-hearted set of funny recollections in meetings with Assad and Khomeini.

I can’t stop thinking those HA folk are how much of a disgrace to islam. How can followers understand faith and there is have a gun in the holster. To taint a religion with blood on their hand, is not right. It is immoral act. They are building a case of having the people feeling being persecuted, building in them a perpetual fear. This is a crime committed against their own generation and future generations to come. The shiite persecution cause is over, that was many centuries ago, keeping going is Machiavellic. The shiites of Lebanon need to stand up and separate their religion from the Lebanese politics, to wake up and raise the children free of guilt and persecution. Lebanon is a free country to practice freedom. Faith with a gun continues, is only weakening islam, but it only presents instead a social ideology based on bullying the ignorant and weak, and those ignorant and weak are no other that their own children.
HA either drop the guns or the turbans, you can’t have both.

Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of
the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing
      submission, and feel themselves subdued.”

Quran (9:14) – “Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace…”

Quran (9:123) – “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.”

Quran (61:4) – “Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way”

Quran (4:89) – “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as
they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends
from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is
forbidden). But if they turn apostate, seize them and slay them wherever
ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their
      ranks.”

Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who
disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every
      fingertip of them

It becomes a ‘War Of The Words’.
And in ‘MAN’s’ translation of the words, we find the most terror.

What does ‘fighting’ really mean? Only men have said it is a physical exercise.
2:126 says Allah knows if I fight … or not. Ok … a reasonable assumption.
I am happy to fight – but with words only … and do not wish to fight physically … either of which, it seems, could be bad for me … so if Allah thinks I have that wrong then I’ll take my chances.
And If the fight is within me, it is my problem.
I am willing to discuss it on the last day.

Meanwhile, I will attempt to slay the too-literal and gory approach in 8:12 … for a slightly more advanced age of human development in 2011 … where ‘thought’ could be ‘head’, and ‘writing’ could be ‘fingertips’ … and if you don’t want to be my friend, as my ‘Faith’ may not seem strong enough for you, then I accept that you will walk away.
I will not chase you … you have your own internal fights to do, and I accept that too.

If you only want to kill me, but are too weak to meet my mind, run.

HA either drop the guns or the turbans, you can’t have both.

      read the quran…
Quran (2:216) – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it.
But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and
that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye
      know not.”

You know, when a movement exists without any kind of moral foundation(as we see in Iran), it is easiest for it to stand on a thick web of lies. The rear orifice(spinnerets) of the great(diseased) spider weaving mightily, is actually located in Tehran!  The great black web(made from protein formulated from the blood of the Iranian people) floats noxiously across and through Syria, its tendrils(with the help of HA) infecting the little nation of Lebanon.  Soon you all will be allowed to worship at the great ‘Fuzzy-Face’s feet!
