Aoun: I will always side with Hezbollah

Share:

Free patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun told Al-Entikad website on Monday said that his relation with Hezbollah is permanent and is based on convictions, adding that he will always side with the resistance because it is a sacred choice.

Aoun who has allied himself with Hezbollah since 2006 said the resistance is needed because of Israeli threats .

“The existence of the Resistance is a national necessity due to the Israeli permanent threat to Lebanon,” he said

Aoun said that Lebanon needs a defense strategy based on the people-army-resistance formula, adding that “the resistance is our only choice.”

The controversial formula he is talking about was included in the outgoing cabinet policy statement but March 14 leaders strongly oppose it because of Hezbollah’s non-state weapons that were used domestically for political gain.

Aoun added that the formation of a cabinet in Lebanon will solve the issue of the Lebanese refugees in Israel.

He did not elaborate on this issue

Commenting on the special Tribunal for Lebanon STL , he said

“We can void the Special Tribunal for Lebanon legally,” adding that he advised UN Secretary General Ban Ki Mon about the necessity of ratifying the STL treaty in the parliament and according to the Lebanese constitution.

The Iranian and Syrian backed Hezbollah brought down PM Saad Hariri’s government on January 12 over STL’s imminent indictment which is widely expected to implicate Hezbollah members in the assassination of the Hariri’s father.

Lebanon has been run by a caretaker government since last January. Nagib Mikati was appointed in January as the PM designate with the backing of the Hezbollah led-March 8 alliance, MPs Walid Jumblatt and Mohammad Safadi . March 14 leaders have repeatedly said that intimidation from Hezbollah’s weapons helped secure the parliamentary majority for Mikati’s nomination.

Aoun is afraid for his wallat… he’s scared if he stopped his propaganda machine Hizballah will cut him off. they even stopped short of mentioning his spy  who worked with Israel for years with Aoun knowledge just to use Aoun….. or maybe he’s been blackmailed. if he does not support them then they’ll turn their evidence in about Aoun working with Israel…. they’re scratching each others backs…. soon they have to scratch their asses for new ideas to get them out of their mess when their MASTER gets his ass kicked….. good luck… you guys need it.

Dont lie. The 6 divisions from Akar were almost 80% of the infantry so if they had run he would not have been able to last for 3 years. The Sunni Divisions in Aouns Amy were the last to Surrender and thats why they are still in jail in Syria or killed by now. It was Aoun who ran away. I was in the Army and a General that leaves his men behind is normally considered to be a traitor. He Left 15000 men around the palace and only ordered them to surrender when he was in the embassy basically allowing them to die so he could run away. Knowing he left them they still refused to surrender until they had no more ammo. THESE ARE FACTS OF HISTORY THE ENTIRE COUNTRY KNOWS. IF YOU LIKE LIES AND THEY MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER THEN LIE TO YOUR SELF AND NOT TO THE WORLD WHEN THE TRUTH HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUT. Make sure your mom swallows….

          1. 316909 Avatar

YES WE DID REDEFINE STUPIDITY. THIS IS WHAT THE DICTIONARY SAYS STUPIDITY:
1.the state, quality, or fact of being stupid.
2.a stupid act, notion, speech, etc.

I have redefined it to: Liban1

So from now on when I want to say stupid Im just going to use your name because youre so dam stupid.

P.S I think Mar Cherbil has better things to do than look over Aoun (Like the millions of people who cant find work in Lebanon to feed their families, the people in Syria, In Sudan and all over the world where people are being treated like dirt by people like you, Aoun and HA

I still think that he is more bad to Lebanon than good. Can you argue otherwise?

          #69# and Mazen,

I’m not going to debate the definition of stupidity with couple of people that consider themselves intelligent. #69#, if you look up stupid in the dictionary, you will find your picture.
Aoun was the first Lebanese (agree with him or not) to stand up and say we need a free Lebanon. He was the first Christian Leader back in the eighties to ask the Muslims to help him free Lebanon, the response was “we can’t hear you”.
He is the only courageous leader to align with HA for the sole purpose of preserving a strong Lebanon.
Many other things, you just have to wait for his book. I will provided it free of charge

I disagreed with him when he insisted on the interior minstery even though I agreed in principal. We need new election law.
I disagreed with him when he ran an MP in the Metn district after Piere Gemayel death.
I don’t like it when he uses words (like you guys call him or me) addressing Hariri Jr. I strongly believe in civilized disagreements.
Few other minor thing, I will keep a list ….

          1. 316909 Avatar

60% of the troops and officers Aoun had under his command were from Akar and they are Sunni Muslim that why most of the people in Jail in Syria are from Akar. They were the troops Guarding him in the palace and refused to surrender even when Aoun ordered them to FROM THE FRENCH EMBASSY. They fought for 3 days until Ammo ran low and Syria used air power.

This shows how stupid you really are. Check your history moron.

He became allies with HA thinking Syria would continue to dominate Lebanon and the weapons HA had would help. He thought since Syria has always ruled Lebanon and since the U.S had f—-ked him over in 91 when they cut gas and ammo shipments to him so syria would agree to the Kuwait invasion he decided Syria was the better choice and a better long term alliance would mean he would rule Lebanon.

Now about the stupid thing. You have admitted to getting butt pounded by Aoun daily and you admit youre getting paid to say what you say witch is very stupid. I dont think Im smart and truth be said I almost didnt even finish college (UCLA 2002) because I was too busy having fun, but one thing is for sure; YOU ARE A TOTAL FUC–KING IDIOT.

Wow I was surprised by your answer!! So you do think he is wrong sometimes. Ok, so that is fair and I take it back that I said you are stupid. But you do come out across like you are not intellegent sometimes when you start writing stuff about Aoun (like the poem that you wrote to Aoun above). If a person that doesn’t know Aoun reads it, they might think you are writing to God!!:) Anyway, my point is not to hate you because you like Aoun but it is that we should not let politicians control the Lebanese people and we should not follow them blindly, but rather follow them and disagree with them sometimes to show that we can think for ourselves also. So my advice to you (if you want to take it), is to write smarter to show your points and what you mean instead of just praising Aoun as if you are talking to him directly……

I agree with you 316909…..I have spoken to a lot of people before but I think that this person libnan1 is the most stupid man in the world!!. I tried to reason with him, but he would not even say that “Aoun might sometimes make mistakes, but I still agree with him for those reasons”. He thinks that Aoun makes no mistakes at all!!. I bet you even Aoun’s mom sometimes says or used to say that he Aoun is human and makes mistakes!!
He is God to him!!. It’s very sad to see some Lebanese people worship these politicians……

On the contrary Mazen_M … I’ve always said that I had disagreed with Aoun on certain thing. But you are right, I agree with him on the majority of his positions. You guys redefine stupidity.

Ok, so before we call each other stupid which is useless, can you please tell me the points that you disagree with and the points that you agree with? By the way, I don’t disagree with him on every single thing but at the same time I am so surprised how people think that he is never wrong and start worshiping him….he is just another person and I don’t see anything special about him.

If you read the main stream news 10% is fact from a political point of view but does anyone ask the real view of the bigger picture like the people as a whole and not a political party that talk about what they want not what people want.
    [01.12.2011]
Palestinians Want To Live Under Israeli Rule

One of the great fictions of Middle East politics is the one that pretends that Palestinian Liberation Authority or Hamas speaks for the Palestinians. A couple of years ago, a think tank announced that if Jerusalem were divided there would be mass exodus of Palestinians who would be living under the rule of the PLA. They would resettle in the Jewish sector. Already, there has been a sharp increase in the number of Jerusalem Arabs applying for Israeli citizenship,A recent poll confirms these findings. Conducted in Arabic the poll surveyed the opinions of Arabs living in Jerusalem. 35% of these people said they would choose to become Israeli citizens  while 30% said they prefer being Palestinian citizens. And what are the reasons why they would move to the Israeli side?
They fear losing access to the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the freedom to travel in Israel, health care and other social services. There is more data about the Arabs who live in Jerusalem. Overwhelmingly they do not see themselves being represented by Hamas or Fatah. But despite these realities on the ground, the world continues to try and force Israel to divide Jerusalem as part of a deal with non-representative organizations.
These are real people wants not a POLITICAL party looking to its own benefits.

The Palestinians were animals my friend, they killed 40,000 Christians in 1976 alone. Its funny how that is never brought up. Sabra and Shatila are always the first thing in mind when it comes to “Phalange” and “Lebanese Forces”. My cousin was killed by the PLO my brothers best friend was killed by the PLO. I only stated the 20,000 in West Beirut because i was surprised -eblashko- forgot about that fact. Everyone blames the Christians for everything in the civil war no doubt, the true start of the war was when the PLO dogs killed 4 people in our church, and the following day we retaliatiated on the Ain el Rommoneh bus. Most of the people who did Sabra and Shatila were from the Damour Brigade, and people should learn more about Damour before talking about how dirty the Phalangists were, Death doesnt justify death none the less. You are right how the Lebanese Sunni Muslims put any (Paki, Afghani) Muslim before a Christian Lebanese yet they call us traitors when we allied with Israel who later backstabbed us anyways. Once again im on your side here, i lived in Furn el Chebbak had a garbage teenage and early adulthood with dreadful memories. Nobody talks about the Damour massacre, or how the Druze killed 2000 Christians in Chouf and made 50,000 flee, and how 40,000 Christians were killed in 1976. 60% of the people killed in the Lebanese Civil War were Christians, if it wasnt for the Lebanese Front there would be none of us left there today. No matter even and i was very mad what happened in Damour and in Chouf. But also i was shocked and dismayed what I saw on TV in Sabra and Shatillah camps. Whoever were involved in the killings whether be it Christians or muslims they were all barbarians. Please stop bringing the past and as Karim said it only fuels the fire. Nowdays you cannot tell because all sects are split in different ways and its hard to know whom with who anymore. So offending people in general you may offend people who are on your side. Christians were no angels and neither were the muslims. We think very highly of ourselves and think we’re smart and high tech compared to other middle eastern countries. We talk about problems that is happening in the world and yet we dare discuss our internal problems and struggles. We must put this religions thing behind us and everyone be responsible for what they say. If you and I and Karim fight hard against religious racism and fight instead for economic justice and corruption and more people will join. The more join the fight the majority of the extremists will either join or will become minorities. Enough of bringing the past. Enough of this stupid politics. Obviously our current leaders have not done a damn thing and they’re fighting each other like cats and dogs and we’re following lead like Robots. We must get rid of them.. I think Christians should march to their leaders and say get out of the way we’re taking over. The same for Muslims and others sects. We’re still struggling with electricity, road repairs, water and basic living conditions. while you see on LBC, MTV and all the channels how fancy these lebanese look.. they don’t have money or water.. and yet they want to show how good they look. Well on the inside they’re all rotten and I am ashamed of programs on MTV on sunday night ahdem whatever.. These people are still living as if there nothing wrong with what’s around them. we’re all good of criticizing each other and yet hardly anyone tries to reach to his brothers and sisters and neighbors. Enough selfishness and enough bigotry and let’s think us on the outside how can we help this nation stands on its feet and stop surrendering to the defeatist ideas and ideology and thinking.. we need build not destroy and if we keep thinking small like religion differences then we’re never going to get Lebanon on its feet. We need to help them so someday we may have to go back there. And would you go back if its still unlivevable like now?
I would not dare go and would only visit and these days i would cut my visits from 5 weeks to 3.. and less every time. Because i am disgusted when i go there and i hardly know anybody.. nobody even knows your name anymore.. So please you have posted about the christians vs muslims during the war. As a Christians please do not get me involved in your past and i want to forget it, mend fences and build from there. Take care and God bless.

Does anyone on this damn website ever read what I had to say? Maybe I’m not dumb enough.

If Israel wasn’t opressing Gaza, then they wouldn’t vote for Hamas. If you know any basic psychology or human resources, you’d understand Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. If Gazans can’t have food, shelter, water, and medicine..then they will opt for the group that provides them with protection..because as long as Israel blocks their borders, illegally blocks their ports, and bombs the living crap out of them, they couldn’t care less about freedom or secularism..besides, the fact that Israel’s bombed schools and libraries even though the UN said those are “safe havens”, doesn’t help the increased support for Hamas and the lack of education there, am I right?

Why do you call yourself Master anyway? I’m curious.

Israel totally left Gaza in 2005, withdrawing both military and civilian settlements, and they still voted for Hamas. The blockade didn’t start until after Hamas kidnapped Gilad Shalit in 2006. Gazans voted for Hamas not because their lives were terrible. They’re much worse off now than they were before and they are much worse of now under Hamas than West Bank Palestinians are under the PA, who actually live quite well. Gazans voted for Hamas because they’re backwards, religious, and want Shari’a Law.

But, again, in contrast to your claim that they like Hamas because of our DEFENSIVE operation there in 2008/9, they say that Hamas support has decreased drastically, and if elections were to be held there today. They would lose.

Granting Hamas legitimacy is equivilant to handing them the rockets to kill us with. By uttering the simple words “we accept your right to exist and agree to stop violence” Hamas can make the lives up Gazans so much better to our standards. But to their standards, it would be an affront to Allah to ever be my friend. And I would be an idiot to let them kill me by opening the blockade so they can freely smuggle in rockets with which to kill me.

The maritime blockade is illegal and the border restrictions are illegal and inhumane as well.

Whether you call it a DEFENSIVE operation or not, it was vile and utterly disgusting.  The only people who say otherwise are the Israeli and American governments..any group from the UN, Amnsety, Human Rights Watch, Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall, Betselem (spelling?) which is an Israeli human rights group all deem it inhumane, illegal, and vile..

Fatah/PA isn’t Hamas, but it isn’t clean either. The people in the West Bank are not content with their efforts and hope their next ruler is neither from Hamas or Fatah.

As vile as you think it was, or anyone thinks it was, I would rather break international law than die by rocketfire.

Hamas is happy to make their children martyrs for their cause. That’s their problem. Our mothers don’t raise us to be martyrs. They raise us to protect our families from threat of extermination.

And that was a broad Israeli consensus. You talked about Betselem. Even Meretz, which is the hard core Left wing party in Israel, was in favor of the DEFENSIVE Gaza operation.

You may not care about Rockets raining on our cities, but we do.

I’m absolutely insulted. I just todl you an hour ago I have friends in Israel and have openly opposed Hamas. I am against violence of all sorts! I’m just claiming that even though Hamas have to stop their rocket fire, I think when the ratio of deaths is 100-1 (to Gaza) I think the one firing more should stop first.

initiative that is LEGAL and accepted under international law?”

Be careful. Hamas will accept the 1967 borders, but will not accept us or an end to the conflict. In that sense, and this is in their speeches as recent as last week, they would continue the conflict from within a state in the 1967 borders.

It’s like a murder saying I will accept a gun so I could shoot you with it later.

Syria says they would, but at the same time, arms Hezbollah to the teeth so that they may one day succeed in wiping us out. Actions speak louder than words.

Netanyahu says no because he’s apprehensive, and with good reason. Until 2 weeks ago, I thought there was no reason to not talk peace. The Hamas-Fatah deal was the best thing in the word that could have happened to Netanyahu and made Livni look like an idiot. Now, because the Palestinians have shown their true colors, again, we’d be suicidal to give Hamas a state.

Maybe Palestinian elections will go in favor of peace, and from there we can proceed, but until Hamas changes, or get ousted, peace is impossible.

Don’t be insulted. There was no way to stop Gaza rocket fire without killing Gazans.  But we tried to minimize casualties. Hamas tried to maximize them. Israel dropped millions of flyers saying the day before that there would be bombs. Hamas wouldn’t let people leave those areas. The best way Hamas could have protected Gazans was to stop rocket fire. But they never would. Like Hezbollah, they’ll never give up resistance because that’s what makes them so popular. Well I guess they just want more war and more death. So be it. If you know Israelis, you know we have a very strong “never again” complex. And we see very great similarities in Nasrallah, Zahar, Ahmedinajad, Haniyeh, and Mashall, that we do to Hitler.

Palestinians Want To Live Under Israeli Rule One of the great fictions of Middle East politics is the one that pretends that Palestinian Liberation Authority or Hamas speaks for the Palestinians.

    1. Master09,
You are pathetic… Why don’t you go and live in Israel and stop that stupid propaganda.
I’d rather live in Lebanon FREE with NO electricity rather than have an Israeli Flag define me.
As things stand now the Palestinians NEED a FREE state of their own that lives side by side peacefully with Israel.

BUT, let’s take out “Muslim”, “Druze” and “Christian” and name politicians and political parties.

Beiruti the Civil war was dirty and let’s not bring the past. All sects killed from the same and different sects. You cannot justify one thing over another.

PS: Hamas said they will be okay with 1967 borders…Syria said so too..so does Fatah…and this is all legal by the UN..why won’t Israel accept? Why does netanyahu choose to say no when there is a peace initiative that is LEGAL and accepted under international law?

        2. @ahmadboutros:disqus it is people like you ahmad (and Hitler) who give them resolve to kick your ass. Extremism on both sides is poisonous… You can never get rid of Israel and they can never get rid of you. So make up and kiss up.

Like Hezbollah, they’ll never give us resistance. Well I guess they just want more war and more death. So be it. If you know Israelis, you know we have a very strong “never again” complex. And we see very great similarities in Nasrallah, Zahar, Ahmedinajad, Haniyeh, and Mashall, that we do to Hitler.

A problem that needs to be solved. Do you really think that the average Israeli and the average Arab view each other with the same humanity. Hah!!

You may be one of the enlightened ones, but you are definitely in the minority.

He’s right about some, but not all.  I still think he’s a lunatic who says some pretty atrocious things.  I can’t speak for Israelis, but living Lebanon, Kuwait, and in Dubai for a little bit, I can say that most Arabs who oppose Israel don’t oppose them out of hate for other humans, or hatred towards Jews, but simply because of the illegal actions done by teh Israeli government, and the human rights violations imposed on the Palestinians.

The news, especially from your end will obviously focus on the negative propaganda that shows anti-semitism and what not… it exists, but then again, racism exists everywhere. The KKK, the neo-nazis in Russia, the illegal settlers who claim that the Palestinians have no legitimacy as a nationality and are nothing but Jordanians and Syrians…

So yeah, there is hatred for Jews and Israelis in Palestine, but saying that SMALL minority are enlightened? Palestine’s heroes are among the enlightened…Mahmoud Darwish, who said that the conflict is political and not religious, spoke fluent Arabic and Hebrew, and was openly in love with an Israeli woman.  Diane Buttu, who is an Arab-Israeli of Ramallah origin talks about human rights but never about eradicating Jews or Israel itself, but opposes the Israeli government.. Mustafa Barghouti, who would have made a much larger impact on the peace process if he was elected as president of the West Bank . Hell, even an Israeli by the name of Illan Papin is open against Israel..so it’s more than just the racist ones who oppose..there are ALOT of fanatic racists, but the way Master or joker in my opinion put it sounds like this is the way of life of Palestinians.

Of course, they are locked up in cages of apartheid walls, illegal maritime blockades, and checkpoints..so nobody really knows about them and have to depend on TV which entertains and generalizes them based on the idiots like Hamas and Fatah.

Memri TV isn’t the most honest source to show you the Middle East.

i know some of aoun’s brainwashed followers who are freely expressing their opinions on this site might have a different point of view; this is by the way a privilege not allowed likewise on any 8th of march sites including the orange site.

so i suggest to the maronite patriarch to propose at the next bkirki meeting in june, a referendum for the christian population in lebanon and abroad to determine once and for all what do christians really want and need and consequently wether they approve or disapprove of aoun’s political agendas as well as his alliances with syria, hezballah and iran and the course of action adopted so far???
