Yes but with all the pressure on Syria and soon maybe another attempt at a revolt in Iran how can you guarantee support in the long run? If Syria falls how will you supply HA ? Truth is that if the regime in Syria falls I think we will see a shift in policy by most if not all March 8.  Maybe even a internal struggle between HA and Amal since Berri will not have support from Syria and HA is stronger in numbers they may just get rid of him and try to control Parliament. Berri will have to pull a Jumblat and change his position. if the regime survive in Syria then expect a lot of revenge in Syria and Lebanon. Before they fall (if they fall) we will see some security issues in Lebanon in trablus where almost all allawite in Lebanon live and a huge sunni stronghold.

The reason for the Alaoui presence in Lebanon is so that Bashar and his “involved relatives” may have a refuge to escape to.

No its not. The reason he has them in tripoli is so he can have a constant threat for the government and people in that area. Syrian politics are based on self interest and divide and conquer. So putting 20,000 armed allawite is a card syria can use once they feel cornered. They will try to create security  breaches in Lebanon or maybe order HA to start a war with Israel. The one thing most people are not talking about is maybe HA want Syria to fall because that would get rid of Berri and consolidate all shia…. The last place Bashar would go is Lebanon if he wanted to leave. Maybe Iran or Venezuela would host him.
