US embassy attacked for second time in south Lebanon

For the second time in a week, a group of young men has attacked a U.S. Embassy convoy with stones during a visit to a southern Lebanese city.

No one was hurt in the stone-throwing incident in the port city of Sidon, where anti-American sentiment is high.

The U.S. Embassy confirms that a delegation went to Sidon Thursday for a meeting with the internal security forces commander there and left the city safely after a meeting.

It said no further information was available.

Last Saturday, a U.S. Embassy group was visiting the old part of the city of Sidon when a group of young men attacked it with stones.

Travel advisory

The United states issued on Tuesday a travel advisory urging its citizens to avoid all travel to Lebanon.

The Shi’ites are growing in Lebanon like mosquitoes, they will turn Lebanon into another Somalia. Some nice reputation the bastards gave us, when i went to America couple years ago the first thing most people said when i said im Lebanese is “Hezbollah”.

Beiruti you should be ashamed of yourself calling Shiites Mosquitoes. Just because you don’t certain group that doesn’t qualify to insult the whole sect. Even if i don’t agree with some ideology and beliefs i respect even the fighters who died for what they believe for Lebanon. I am not pro-hezbollah or anybody and could not careless about any party because i don’t any march 8th or 14th for that matter. But for you to insult a religion because you don’t like Hezbollah is totally uncalled for and out of character. Shame on you..

I agree with you Elias, there are some great Shia in Lebanon… I think our friend Beiruti is just frustrated by those Shia (Hezbollah) which use intimidation and terrorism to control our country.

we just have to appeal to those who still got some sense in their heads and ask them to condemn such actions.
