Lebanon President Michel Suleiman condemned Saturday the attack on the Lebanese Embassy in Libya by Gaddafi forces

According to a statement issued by his office, Suleiman said that vandalizing the premises of the embassy “is a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.”

Caretaker Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Shami filed a complaint with the UN against the incident.

Earlier report by NBN TV indicated that the embassy was set on fire but the Lebanese Charges d’affaires in Tripoli Nazih Ashour denied the report and said the Lebanese flag was replaced with the Libyan one. He also said that there are no injuries among the embassy’s staff.

Good for Lebanon. Let them burn our flag, it shows the world that we are the REAL hub for human rights in the middle east. These people are monsters, we don’t want them on our side and the burning of our flag shows that.
