SSNP lawmaker criticizes speeches of March 14 leaders

Syrian Social Nationalist Party MP Marwan Fares criticized Monday speeches of March 14 leaders during the commemoration that marked the 6th anniversary of the assassination of Lebanon’s former PM Rafik Hariri :

“The formation of a national unity cabinet became more difficult after Monday’s speeches,” Syrian Social Nationalist Party MP Marwan Fares on Tuesday.

Fares is a key member of the Hezbollah-led March 8 alliance.

He was referring to the attacks against the illegal arms in Lebanon and the defense of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon STL , by the March 14 leaders that addressed the participants at Biel.

We do not support the Resistance giving up its arms since they target Israel, Fares told MTV and added “We consider the Tribunal (STL) to be an update to 1559, which we oppose.”

He was referring to UN Security Council Resolution 1559 which was adopted on September 2, 2004, on the situation in Lebanon. 1559 called upon Lebanon to establish its sovereignty over all of its land and called upon “foreign forces” to withdraw from Lebanon and to cease intervening in the internal politics of Lebanon. The resolution also called on all Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias to disband and declared support for a “free and fair electoral process”.

Outgoing Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Monday all said that March 14 would enter into the opposition.

The Iranian- and Syrian-backed Hezbollah brought down PM Saad Hariri’s government on January 12 over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s imminent indictment which is widely expected to implicate Hezbollah members in the assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri in 2005 .

Nagib Mikati, who was backed by Hezbollah and its March 8 allies including Jumblatt and Mohammad Safadi, was appointed by president Michel Suleiman as PM-designate to form and head the next cabinet , giving Hezbollah and its allies increased leverage in the country and provoking widespread protests.

    SSNP will support anything that will destroy Lebanon. these people are loosers and low-life and murders. Assad Harden the Monkey of Syria aided in many assassinations and killings in Lebanon. Even the SSNP helped Syrian troops bomb Tripoli. These people have no moral and they’re just jealous of everyone around them. Syria is responsible for many Lebanese deaths, this is fact we can all agree on…but these pricks put Syria first, themselves second , and Lebanon last…What if we had a party that represented Israel or America or any European country in their party name? the terrorists would all have heart attacks, but I dont see any difference between that and the SSNP….The Lebanese have spoken in 2005 NO TO SYRIA and ALL ITS FOREIGN AGENTS RAPPING LEBANON! we only want leaders who represent Lebanon and its people!

    What nation allows a party to serve another nations interest?
    I will tell you who, a country that is full of traitors.
    Parties like that should be dissolved and abolished.
    Ya ma 2hla HA next to this garbage.
    We have a few family friends that belong to this crap and everytime I visit them, the first greeting I get is “Tahya soorya”, and that always leads to an arguement and it turns ugly. So when they come and visit us now I always raise my hand and say “Hail Zion” just to piss them off. What a bunch of Mongaloids.

      We all agree here that SSNP must be banned as Fouad Chehab did, Chehab knew the danger of a party that believ in assassination and has the concept of Dictatorship by following one Zaim . Ghassan Tueini and Fouad JoumblaTT also Said Akl was a member at one time , but after all they left as this party has no democratic base. Fouad Chehab realised the danger to have a party who became exclusively a ruthless machine that execute orders to foreign countries and mainly the Syrian for the last 40 years or more , even though the party is not allowed in Syria!!!!! so go figure

    Those SSNP have guts to talk, when Asaad Hardan should be standing trial for killing Bashir and many civilians with him. Only Fouad Chehab banned this party, as it is nromal to ban a party that doesn’t believe.
    Their Leader Antoun Saade called for a coup d’etat in 1948 and run to Syria were the Syrian president Chichakli hand him back to Lebanon to be executed ( which i don’t agree with that,he should have been put in jail but not executed ,he was a leader not like his predecessors,bunch of agents for foreign countries)
    Then 1961 they tried a coup and failed and Fouad Chehab banned them and they went into clandestine and formed the PLO with some leftist Palestinian
    in the civil war they executed all the car bombs in Christian area, most of them were on payroll by Syrian intelligence , Asaad Hardan is a Syrian Intelligence high rank officer himself . In the future if Lebanon survive this party need to be dismantled in pieces as the Nazi party was dismantled , this party has no morals and don’t believe in democracy as Antoun Saade visited Berlin in 1933 and met the Fuhrer and all their ways since then resembles to the Nazis .They assassinate Riad el Solh and his killers was still alive in the 80’s living in Bteghrine ,they followed Shishakli to Brazil and Killed him, they tried to Kill Pierre Germayel and they manage to kill Bachir and his killer live in Tartous now,Assaad Herdan was the mastermind the killing on behalf of Hafez el Assad who promised Frangie the father that Bashir will not swear to be president .
    SSNP= are the enemy of Lebanon , and their goal to have one country from Palestine to Iraq is gone with the wind , actually the idea was so ridiculous from the beginning , but a dream and fantasy, how you could have such country when Islam doesn’t allow anyone else to rule , it was a Christian theory for a secular states , that why Syria and Iraq persecuted the SSNP members to death, only Lebanon is stuck with those idiots until now who are bunch of criminals and mafia with no objective anymore other than being agents to Syria as they were in the 30’s agents to the British intelligence against the French in Lebanon

      Although in its essence your commentary is true specially that the current leadership is nothing but pions to the Assad regime, your history facts are not entirely true. As a matter of fact, Lebanon was center to their ideology and unlike what people think, Saade called Lebanon the beating heart of the Fertile Crescent. When Bashir was assassinated by Chartouni at the behest of Hafez el Assad more than half of the senior members distanced themselves and said publicly that they are no longer part of the party as the captain stirring that ship is Assad.
      My take on this is that they mean well for their “lost” cause however before they start their so called struggle in Lebanon they should really start in Syria until they convince the Syrians FIRST about their project. To be fair though, the party of old has nothing to do with the current generation leading the party.
      Disclosure: I am not SSNP. I would have joined if it were LSNP though… 😛
