Lebanese Judge demands death penalty for Qazzi

Lebanese military court prosecutor Saqr Saqr on Tuesday demanded the death penalty for Charbel Qazzi, a key technician at Alfa mobile phone company accusing him of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, Lebanese Files has reported

Qazzi was arrested last month as part of a national crackdown on suspected Israeli espionage rings launched in April 2009.

According to the text of the indictment Qazzi was accused of “dealing with the enemy and engaging in plots by providing Israel with information that could give it advantage in any future war against Lebanon.”
