New TV has reported that the first black box of the Ethiopian airlines plane that crashed last week and which was recovered from the sea earlier today is the flight data recorder (FDR) (also called ADR, for accident data recorder) which is used to record specific aircraft performance parameters . This is usually located in the tail of the plane

The other black box , cockpit voice recorder (CVR), has been located and is being retrieved . This box is usually located in the cockpit and records conversation in the cockpit, radio communications between the cockpit crew and others (including conversation with air traffic control personnel), as well as ambient sounds.

Lebanese PM Saad Hariri has reportedly sent his private jet to transport both black boxes along with the investigation team to France for further investigation
