STL prosecuter files an amended indictment

Share:

AFP reported that Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL ) Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare filed an amended indictment which includes “substantive new elements” with Pre-Trial Judge Fransen.

STL was created by a 2007 UN Security Council resolution to find and try the killers of former Lebanese PM Rafik Hariri, who was assassinated in a massive car bombing on the Beirut seafront on February 14, 2005 that also killed 22 other people.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is reportedly poised to indict Hezbollah members in the Hariri murder.

The Iranian and Syrian backed Hezbollah brought down PM Saad Hariri’s government on January 12 over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s ( STL) imminent indictment .

A Lebanese judge, Rafic. That’s the only way we can declare that Lebanon is an independent state.

I have no faith in this tribunal. How can it rule Israel out right from the get go? I’m not saying we should all jump to blame Israel but it makes no sense to rule anyone out. I think Israel had the most to gain from the assassination, and a legitimate inquiry would not take anything off the table. As long as this tribunal holds anyone above the law, especially Israel, I cannot take it seriously.

this is a much better alternative then the lebanese judicial system…

the lebanese judicial system is the same one who released Bakri who was arrested for crimes after Hizbollah have intervened.

i do not like a judicial system that if hizbollah can intervene and get whoever he likes released from jail.

give me international tribunal any time.
