Sarkozy reiterates his support for Lebanon

French President Nicolas Sarkozy told President Michel Suleiman that Paris remains ready to “do whatever helps the Lebanese” National News Agency (NNA) quoted Culture Minister Salim Wardeh as saying. Suleiman met with Sarkozy Saturday .on the sidelines of the 2010 Francophonie summit which is being held in the Swiss town of Montreux .

Israel to Syria: No plans to attack Lebanon

Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Paris, the French president coordinated the transfer of a message from Israel to Syria. The message is that Israel does not intend to attack Syria or Lebanon and that Damascus should stop transferring weapons to Hezbollah and training its fighters in Syria.

Sarkozy wants to strengthen ties with Lebanon

President Michel Suleiman received Thursday a letter from Nicolas Sarkozy expressing interest in further strengthening the relations between Lebanon and France.
