12 Israeli warplanes violated Lebanon airspace

israeli fighter jets Twelve Israel warplanes flew over Lebanon between Thursday and Friday, the Lebanese Army claimed, shortly after the country appealed to the United Nations over airspace violations.

According to a statement, the Israeli planes entered Lebanese airspace Thursday at 10:30 p.m. and left Friday at 1:15 a.m.

Nawaf Salam, Lebanon’s permanent ambassador to the UN submitted a complaint to the Security Council with a statistical summary of 54 Israeli violations of Resolution 1701, the ceasefire resolution that ended the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel.

The Lebanese army and Hezbollah are reportedly on high alert in southern Lebanon in response to Israeli Air Force activity in Lebanon’s airspace after the announcement by Bulgaria that Hezbollah was behind the bus bombing.

Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov stated Tuesday that Bulgarian investigators had “a well-founded assumption” that the perpetrators of the deadly attack belonged to the military wing of Hezbollah.
