Lebanon General Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi ordered an investigation into the recordings implicating Lebanese MP Okab Sakr in providing support to Syrian rebels, National News Agency reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, Madi requested the Central Criminal Investigations Department to analyze the information included in the recordings that allegedly implicate the Future bloc MP in providing weapons to Syrian rebels in their effort to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.

On Monday, Sakr admitted that the Al-Akhbar newspaper transcripts of his conversations with Syrian rebels were true.

In remarks published by As-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper on Monday, Sakr said: “What I am doing in Syria embodies my convictions and it is in the interest of Lebanon.”

Al-Akhbar newspaper last week published a series of transcripts revealing Sakr’s conversations with Syrian rebels to help arm them in their effort to overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Lebanon’s political scene is deeply divided between supporters of the Assad regime, spearheaded by the March 8 group, and its pro-western opponents represent by the March 14 coalition.

More than 41,000 people have been killed since the violence in Syria began in March 2011, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

I wish everyone stays out of the Syrian conflict… We bitch and moan that the Syrians interfere in our affairs then we do the same to them… Let it play its course… The righteous will prevail… No need to put our noses in their affairs and that goes to everyone who wants to be a true Lebanese national.

    1. Evil will triumph only when good people do nothing.

I dare the judge investigate Nassrallah drone over israel..Not..

    1.  The first TV station that broadcast it was OTV, why OTV because of their telecom minister who works not for the Lebanese goverment but for the Hizb of satan (hizbollah) in Lebanon and who gave them these audiotapes because of his high position in the Ministry. But when an assasination is done against a free lebanese like 14 Mars martyrs and others…   they refuse to give the Data required by special intelligence army or iSF to complete the investigation… under the pretext of life privacy, but they kill you with cold blood and walks your funerals and sometime dare to cry. . At least Okab Sakr said the truth about his implication in Syria, but other camp is doing it increasly but deny it everyday days in medias LIKE HYPOCRITES…. 14 Mars always payed the big bill to save this country because they say the Truth!!!

  5. The judge would rather he Syrians stay defenseless and under tyranny . He should be tried for helping Assad.

    1. hold on next on the hit list? is m8 accussed of killing everyone? so what are you saying m14 should take him out? honestly the logic mystifies

      1. Why people choose EVil over Good is a mystery. I prefer to do good and smash Evil. Only the guided ones know the difference.

  7. Some judge!

Why don’t we also investigate the 120 trash bags that came back from Syria filled with Harbullah minions performing their “jihadic duties“?

I am sure this “judge” meticulously and ever-so-professionally examined all 121 incidents. He then prioritized them all in the order of threat to Lebanon’s national security. He then found that Sakr’s case rests at the top of that list.

He then determined that, oh my goodness, Sakr’s case is so ominous and colossal in nature that it supersedes all the other 120 cases—so much so that the now-dwarfed 120 incidents are no longer worthy of an investigation; in fact it would now be almost farcical to even try, 3ayb ya3neh for his reputation.

After days of pondering, soul searching and excruciating agony, his final, quite dilemmic but wise verdict was that he just had to completely throw out the other 120 cases. Not even file them, or refer them, or postpone them. No no, there’s not time for that. Completely throw the suckers out.

He must now deal solely with, and be able to focus with a spotless clear mind on, the imminent and catastrophic danger that could destroy us all: Sakr’s recorded conversation.

Lak ya heik judges ya bala! Walaw?
