McCain: Iran "supplying arms" to Syrian regime

Sen. John McCain told “CBS Evening News” anchor Scott Pelley Monday that it’s too late to worry about Iran becoming involved in the unrest in Syria because they’re already there, “supplying arms and equipment” to President Bashar Assad.

In an interview to be broadcast Monday evening, McCain, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Iranian involvement shouldn’t be a reason preventing the United States from providing support to the rebels in their nearly-yearlong uprising.

“The Iranians are already there,” said McCain. “They’re already there. All reports confirm that. They’re already supplying arms and equipment to Bashar Assad, as are the Russians supplying arms, so right now it’s an asymmetric situation with Bashar Assad receiving equipment and actual physical help from Iran, Russia – and the Syrian rebels not receiving equal assistance, certainly not very much.”

Nice to hear the truth at times … no matter who it’s from.

    1.  I cant badmouth someone who suffered 2 broke arms and a leg when his plane went down, then when captured they bayoneted him and busted his shoulder. He was then tortured for 5 and a half years before his release, when he could have been released in less than a year, he stayed with his men…then over 30 more years serving the people.. He deserved the presidency, America lost out..

Obama does not want to get involved ,that may cost him his presidency. All what they care about is winning a second term. That is why we should vote republican .
The west has an amazing chance to get rid of this butcher and break Iran’s back.If they don’t act now they regret this forever….

Oh pardon me Hesperian … but I’ve listened to some of those republican potentials … I think you’re better off with a guy who had the 4 years to discover where Syria is. The next 4 may be more fruitful … maybe even some medical care for the 99%. 😉
