NNA: 2 Injured Syrian protesters hospitalized in Lebanon

Two Red Cross ambulances transported two Syrians at around 7:00 p.m. Saturday to the Lady of Peace Hospital in the Lebanese town of Qobayyat, National News agency (NNA) reported on Saturday

The two Syrians, Khaled Rajoob and Bassel al-Hajj Hassan, were shot in Qusayr, a town outside Syria’s Homs, and brought to Lebanon through the Bekaa town of Al-Qaa.

Syrian army shooting at Lebanese towns

In a related development Future News reported on Saturday that residents in the Lebanese town of Al-Nousoub fled to Jabal al-Akroum after Syrian army soldiers shot in the direction of their town.

“Syrian army vehicles are also deployed in the region, and that the residents of the town have called on the Lebanese army to take action as soon as possible,” Future News added.

The report also said that “the Syrian army also shelled the Lebanese town with anti-tank missiles.”

Thousands of Syrians have fled violence in their country to Lebanon since the pro democracy protests against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad started over six months ago . Assad’s troops have cracked down on protests killing over 2,700 people, according to UN Human Rights committee, and triggering a torrent of international condemnation.
