FPM: Protests in Syria won’t change a thing in Lebanon

MP Ziad Aswad who represents Free Patriotic Movement in the parliament commented to Central News Agency about the protests in Syria by saying:

“Yesterday’s protests in the Syrian city of Daraa won’t change a thing on the Lebanese domestic scene despite some parties’ wishful thinking in that regard.” In reference to March 14 alliance.

MP Michel Aoun who heads the Free Patriotic Movement is closely linked to the Syrian regime and Hezbollah.

Syrian security forces have fired tear gas to disperse crowds at the funeral of two people killed in anti-government protests on Friday, witnesses say.

Thousands had gathered for the funeral in the southern city of Daraa, and began chanting anti-government slogans.
