Lebanon cabinet to seek parliament’s vote of confidence

Lebanese ParliamentThe Lebanese parliament will convene on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to discuss the ministerial policy statement of Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s government, which was endorsed in a record time, on the basis of which the government would seek the parliament’s vote of confidence, Lebanese media reported on Monday

Over the weekend, the cabinet, chaired by president Michel Aoun, convened at the Presidential Palace in Baabda and approved the government’s policy statement.

While the United States with a population that is 75 times more than Lebanon will have a new 21 member cabinet, Lebanon decided on a new 30-member government last Sunday to accommodate all the various political factions with the exception of the Phalange party.

After the parliament grants the cabinet its vote of confidence , it will focus its discussions on an electoral law for the upcoming elections
