Amal and George Clooney turn up the glamour at the Met Gala

After spending a rather casual weekend with his in-laws in New York City, George Clooney turned up the glamour (and turned on the charm!) to join his beautiful wife, Amal Clooney, on the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday night (May 4).

Looking more in love than ever, the charismatic actor leaned in to whisper sweet nothings to the Lebanese-British lawyer, who blushed and giggled with glee.

Lebanon’s Amal Alamuddin Clooney, internationally renown barrister, donned John Galliano for the avant-garde Belgian brand Maison Margiela. Her tiered, sparking red gown spoke to the China theme and had the press buzzing about her role as a fashion icon.

Amal, 37, was stunning in her strapless red gown, while George, 53, was dapper in a black tuxedo complete with a red pocket square to match his wife’s dress.

It was a sweet moment that beautifully capped off the couple’s busy weekend after they had spent the past few days with Amal’s parents – Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin – as well as her lookalike sister, Tala.

While vacationing in Manhattan, the Alamuddins visited George on the set of his new film, Money Monster, and got to spend some rare and intimate family time together.

This was Amal and George’s very first Met Gala together, but certainly not their last. The beautiful barrister regularly tops best-dressed lists for her elegant outfits on and off the red carpet, but it seems that Amal has been taking major steps in the world of fashion, with rumours swirling that she’s in talks with none other than Met Gala cohost Anna Wintour for a possible Vogue cover.
