Toronto is officially the best city in the world to live in

TorontoToronto is the world’s best city to live in, according to research looking at a range of factors including safety, cost of living and livability.

According to analysis carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit of 36 major cities, Canada’s economic powerhouse finished top.

While it wasn’t named first in any of the specific rankings, a strong performance overall placed Toronto top. It came eighth in the safety index and fourth in terms of livability.

Tokyo is named the safest city in the world. Even though it is home to 30 million people and is one of the biggest cities in the world, the Japanese capital sees very little crime and violence.

With a traditionally well-ordered, hierarchical society, Japan has one of the lowest murder rates in the world, with the use of drugs particularly low. Another Japanese city, Osaka, was ranked third safest city in the world.

Toronto was only placed outside of the top ten in one category: cost of living. Unsurprisingly, London scored poorly in this too, coming around halfway down, alongside South Korea’s capital, Seoul.

Melbourne came top in the livability ranking, and Hong Kong was one of five to score highest in Food Security.

OH CRAP !!! Don’t tell them THAT !!!!
Did you mention the -15C temperatures? The SNOW?? The ‘lake effect’ HUMIDITY that brings snow in winter, and STICKY BODIES in the ‘2-month’ summer?? Really … we don’t WANT more.
Show them the ‘Rob Ford’ debacles and the idiocies of the Fiberal Electric BILLS …. TAXES TAXES TAXES !!!!!!
I think someone is trying to flog those tiny overly-expensive apartments that absolutely COVERED the ‘view’ of the ‘waterfront’ that most of the citizens can’t see any more. (wiped out in 30 years)
And TRANSIT ???? Hahahahahahahha …. The Toronto crowd doesn’t even want to see a car doing more than 2 miles an hour …. although it is legal for male and female to be topless in the STICKY heat of warm anywhere, and there’s a nude beach or two … it takes forever to get to the uber-expensive parking lots.
Who the HELL is ‘Economist Intelligence Unit’???? A collection of real-estate agents.
Intelligence? … sure … trying to PACK more into the place while obliterating the farmlands with concrete jungles. Real Intelligent.
(mind you, Tripoli Lebanon has a ways to go to be on the list …..)

taxes is a good thing… taxes is what builds up a country and a some other things…. much much much much more than “democra-z-y” and “freedom of mocking muslims speech” and “human rights to force ppl not to wear hijab in france”
funny that ppl ignore that fact and try to brainwash us all to think otherwise
