Former Lebanese prime minister and Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri blasted Syrian president Bashar al Assad in a statement on Saturday accusing him of being the mastermind of the Tripoli unrest.
“The mastermind of all crimes lies in Damascus and wants to drown Tripoli in the chaos of arms”, Hariri said and added :
“The order to punish Tripoli was issued when the ISF Intelligence Branch unveiled the network responsible for the bombings of the mosques.”
This was in reference to the suspects arrested following the twin bombings last August of the Tripoli mosques. The suspects revealed that the Syrian regime was reportedly behind the bombings.
Hariri accused the Lebanese officials of burying their heads in the sand, saying they continue in vain to hold security meetings.
