PSP denounces as “barbaric” genital mutilation attack

The Progressive Socialist Party denounced as “barbaric” the genital mutilation that took place in Lebanon’s town of Baysour, of Mt Lebanon east of the capital Beirut.

PSP said in a statement issued on Wednesday that it followed up the incident with the concerned town officials and agencies.

“The party has also requested that the perpetrators be arrested and tried before the competent court,” the PSP added.

An-Nahar reported that Rabih , a Sunni, 39, and Roudaina, a Druze ,20, met on Facebook and were married in July against the wishes of the bride’s family. The family of Roudaina attacked her husband Rabih and mutilated his genitals.

Marriage between members of the Druze community and non-Druze are rare and officially banned

    The version I read was that they took it off. And the ‘bride’ is disappeared.
    But you need to think …. Something new in the ‘gene-pool’ wouldn’t have hurt.

      Poor girl the parents would have put her 6 feet under and in the back yard of the house. A girl to them is worth less than a penny…..honor my D..k. get it, poor fella.

    The Druze, in general, are a community that you cannot trust. Among the druze today there are murderers who slaughtered innocent christians (men, women and children) when Kamal Jumblatt was killed by the Syrians and everyone knows today that the christians had nothing to do with this murder. Poor this guy who thought that his in-laws accepted him and accepted their invitation to end up beaten and mutilated for life. Indeed they are barbaric and the PSP has no choice but to admit that they acted in a barbaric manner. I know that some are going to object that it is wrong to accuse a whole sect for this crime, but unfortunately this is the ugly reality of this sect which exercises the TAKYYA (hypocrisy) at its best, from their biggest to their smallest. This is how they are raised (just remember the flip flop of Walid Jumblatt on the Syrian issue). Imagine that this crime is committed because 2 adults loved each other and married legally. The love of 2 innocent people led others to commit this barbaric crime, What kind of values and morals these people have….. Just despicable. Of course all their leaders are going to condemn this act in public, but implicitly they would do anything to prevent a druze woman from marrying a non-druze.

      Their action wasnt at all because of values and morals just, it was a strict religious view. Any man can do anything for the sake of their religion especially if it involved people close to them. To be honest i dont disagree with what u said about doing that to the man but you cannot blame a whole race or in this case a religion because of a crime done by one family. Whats it to say muslims and christians dont kill innocent people? Around the world people are bashing each other regardless their religion. It was certainly a bad stunt and i dont think the man deserved it, but dont go blaming all druze because of it. Any druze male or female both are restricted from marrying a non-druze. You simply cant blame them for following one simple rule in their religion. Who’s to say many people didnt fall in love with non druze and had to let go and reject marriage because of their religion? They are open-minded and civilized but they cant change what God asked them to do for other people’s sake…sure as hell it is not worth it. Those people should pay a price and deserve to be punished but nevertheless they just taught a lesson to the world to prevent anymore druze and non druze marriages. Besides Druze isnt the only religion that bans marriage between themselves and other religions.

        Bigotry at best… Religion of mysticism and discrimination. Let the Druze try this bullshit in civilized countries… I just wish and see how the law of man prevails. TFEH!!!

            hahah 😛 honestly my friend is from that place and she is completely against what happened, she put the blame on the woman because she is the one who committed a sin. NO one had the right to do that to the man, poor him, they ruined his life, thats if he would have a decent one from now on. The reason i put up a defense was because it isnt as much as what happened in Egypt, Iraq or was it Iran (lol im only 15 ) and now in syria. We might as well blame all muslims then, all christians, and all druze. i dont think any is better than the other then. i hope u guys understand what ive been trying to prove.

        Has ANYONE interviewed HER after this ?? A BAD STUNT ????
        Is she sitting beside her husband in Beirut hospital ??
        In 2013 we are still trying to get idiots from chopping off bits of body-parts of both sexes for ‘religion’, and you put up a defence for eliminating a whole member ??
        And of course Constanin can blame ‘the whole’ because ‘THE WHOLE’ is what does the brainwashing, that ‘religion’ … and the others – which you do note at least have similar un-godly rules created by CONTROLLING MEN.
        Next time the little group of women attempting to have a voice in parliament are on the street, go and join them … and LEARN something.

        Guest, I knew that blaming a whole sect would draw a reaction like yours, and I know that the majority of the druze would genuinly codemn such a barbaric act and many of them (a minority) is educated and very civilized, yet at the end of the day they would stick with each other no matter what, for this reason I put them all in the same basket. Just look how they (almost) all support Jumblatt with all his flip flopping in politics. Finally, they do accept much more that a druze man marries a non-druze (because his children will be druze like their father) but do not accept a druze woman to marry a non-druze, she’ll have non-druze children.
