Dialogue talks postponed to January 2013

The National Dialogue session that was planned for November 29, 2012 was postponed by president Michel Suleiman to January 7,2013 according to local reports.

Commenting on this development Transportation and Public works minister Ghazi Aridi said after meeting with Hezbollah’s No. 2 Sheikh Naim Qassem over the initiative of PSP leader MP Walid jumblatt , he said :

“The decision to postpone the national dialogue session isn’t to give time for the parties to think about our initiative but because there’s a political alliance that doesn’t want to attend”, adding:” Our initiative is based on our conviction that the crisis must be resolved.”

He was referring March 14 opposition alliance which refuses to attend the dialogue talks before a new government is formed.
