Syrian rebels free Lebanese journalist

A Lebanese journalist who was held in northern Syria by rebels fighting President Bashar al-Assad has been freed, Lebanese Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said on Wednesday.

Rebels in Azaz, a northern Syrian town, reported on their Facebook page on Saturday that they had put Itani, who works for Lebanese local television LBCI, under house arrest as his work was “incompatible with the course of the Syrian revolution”.

Charbel, speaking to reporters on his way to a cabinet session, confirmed that Itani had left Syria and was in Turkey on his way back to Lebanon.

On Sunday, the Liwa Asifat al-Shamal (Storm of the North Brigade) broadcast a video in which Itani said he was in good health and on Wednesday the rebel group said he would be released.

Former PM Saad Hariri dispatched MP Okab Saqr to Turkey on Monday to mediate Itani’s release

“incompatible with the course of the Syrian revolution”
Nice way of describing slanted reporting, perhaps? 😉

As far as you are concerned, i am sorry i dont have time to go back to your original reply, i took note of your reply to my global analysis note; as anticipated i did not expect you will understand it, on the contrary you isolated one issue, namely american power which i delineated, you exxagerated it and you attacked it dismissing the other points, either intentionally or because you did not understand them: this is called propaganda. I never denied the  qualities of america; i never denied that america is superior than most if not all countries of the world; i never denied american life style is much better than many other lifestyles….so please do not put words into my mouth and do not extrapolate my ideas. Nevertheless, whether you like it or not, america decides whether the weather will be good or not tomorrow, whether saoud will be king of saoudi arabia tomorrow or not, whether assad remains in power tomorrow or not…..; america is the sole faction which decides what will happen tomorrow in the world particularly in the middle east; and yes america is behind most of these troubles; just to make it simple for you to understand, if america wanted assad to go, he would have left more than a year ago, oops more than 40 years ago; i let you make up your own conclusions

Basically … if you have stuck in your ‘global analysis note’ (a multitude of times), you’ve said your bit then, and there’s no need to keep hammering it at us in every news item it doesn’t relate to.
In fact, if you had something to contribute to most NEWS items (a little more to add or even some comedy-relief) without going far back in history or dumping on anyone else’s opinion – or indeed being rude to them – I think we would all be surprised.

Oh .. and I doubt you could shut down the blog …. except by abusing it and others so often … which only serves to have people reading the items and not blogging, because it’s a sort of torture we can ignore simply enough.
But thanks for noticing the world changed ‘out there’ somewhere. We may not like ALL the changes of the last millennia, or certain moves of ‘some’ governments, but there it is. Try to move forward and live in it, ok?
