Elections of new members of the Druze Religious Council were held on Sunday across Lebanon but the Lebanese Democratic Party which is headed by MP Talal Arslan decided to boycott the elections
Commenting on the elections , Minister of Public Works Ghazi Al Aridi said while casting his vote that it would’ve been better if the The Lebanese Democratic Party had not boycotted the voting, stressing that the Druze remain one solid entity.
The Religious Council elects the key Druze officials including the top spiritual the “Sheikh al Akl”.
