Lebanon Labor union calls for strike on May 3

Ghassan Ghosn, General Workers Union chief called for a general strike starting in May to protest against the government’s performance , National News Agency reported.

“[The union] decided to call for a general strike on Thursday May 3, which would include private and public [sector employees],” Ghosn said in a statement following the union’s meeting adding that” the decision to strike was due the inefficient performance of the current government.”

“Lebanon has never witnessed such a worsening of the social and financial situation… while the government is not meeting the demands of the people.” Ghosn added

      i think this man is just taking advantage of the situation…whatever happens he is known to be the “zalameh” of Berri so it won’t get any further. my guess here is he is playing his rol as putting pressure on Mikati in order to get more pay dow his pocket while looking like he actually cares about the labourers.
