The Lebanese cabinet has approved a compensation of 30 million Lebanese pounds (LL) to be paid to the family of each victim of the collapsed building in Beirut
The cabinet held a meeting on Monday at the Baabda Presidential Palace to discuss the issue of the building that collapsed on Sunday in Ashrafieh district of the capital Beirut.
At least twenty seven people were killed when the five-story residential building collapsed . Rescue workers were searching on Monday evening for people believed still buried under the rubble, Lebanese officials said.
The cabinet also decided to task the Higher Relief Committee with providing “temporary housing” for the families that were affected by the collapse of the building.
