Gingrich calls Romney a liar

Newt Gingrich today is calling Mitt Romney a liar, just hours before Iowa voters cast their ballots for a GOP presidential nominee.

In an interview with CBS, the former House speaker was asked specifically if he believes his GOP rival is a liar. Gingrich has been pummeled in recent weeks on Iowa airwaves by negative ads, many of them funded by a pro-Romney group.

“Yes,” Gingrich told Norah O’Donnell of CBS. When the question was repeated, Gingrich replied: “Well, you seem shocked by it. Yes.”

Later, in an interview with Fox News, Gingrich said Romney “fails to tell the truth” when it comes to his record as Massachusetts governor and about Restore Our Future, the independent “super PAC” that has spent more than $3 million on Iowa advertising. A recent analysis shows nearly half of all the ads in Iowa are negative spots directed at Gingrich.

“I wish he’d be honest with the American people,” Gingrich said, adding that negativity is “a terrible way to run for office.”

Gingrich repeated his vow to be more direct at making contrasts with Romney and his other rivals, yet still run a positive campaign. He said the eventual GOP nominee “had better be tough and tell the truth” in the general election against President Obama, who will be well funded and have the support of his Democratic allies.

And what if he’s not the GOP nominee? Could he support Romney?

“If he’s the nominee, I’ll support him,” Gingrich told Fox News.

No worries you both are liars.

    1. And you base your knowledge on these people with what source of facts? are leaders while not all perfect at least dont kill each other like yours. Gingrich is a college proffessor, with 30 years serving this country.Romney while matbe a lil too mormon for me, has been around along time too. we dont overthrow our governments in support of another goverments wishes, nor do we allow one to rule for 30 plus years either. You wish you had the freedom we have, why you think everyone who can flees there never to return? They wise up to reality.

      1. I really would like that you all are free over there to live your own lives and be happy, but you need to police the radicals more, even make it a crime. Its not free speech if its made to suppress one man and subjugate another. If you dont round up and get rid off the bad eggs, more turn rotten and pretty soon nobody thinks its possible for you to produce a good one

Well Gingrich was the US house speaker during Clinton’s era and he was one of the advocates who had shut down the government.

Newt Gingrich could be a College professor but he is very reactionary in all his views, and Romney on the other hand is a flip flopper and Multi Millionaire very much like John Kerry except that he is Republican.
Sadly speaking, the interests of the financial industry and Corporate America that fund the
election campaigns of both parties will continue to pre-dominate the legislative
and policy-making process while pressure from the electorate and labour unions
representing public workers will make it difficult to slash the major
government-backed retirement and health-insurance programmes. Bottom line is that both parties are under the influence of corporate America and it would not make any real difference whether the candidate who wins is Democrat or Republican. This is the truth.

        1. Newt was a professor. But Im also looking for a harder power trio to deal with the economy China and Iran.. I would love a Newt Gingrich/Allen West ticket with John Bolton as Secretary of state. With a republican controlled House and Senate, we can deal with breaking the Iran/Syria/Hezbollah axis.We will hit Iran, its now just a matter of when
