During an interview with the Kuwaiti daily As-Seyassah published on Sunday, March 14 General Coordinator Fares Soueid said that the blast which wounded five French peacekeepers in southern Lebanon this week, served as a message to France, “in particular,” and to Prime Minister Najib Mikati .

Soueid said that as foreign pressure increases on Syria, President Bashar al-Assad’s regime “will retaliate by targeting the French contingent of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).”
