Hezbollah rejects Suleiman’s propsal

Al Anbaa newspaper reported that President Michel Suleiman wants Wednesday’s scheduled cabinet session at the Baabda presidential palace to go smoothly and for this reason he proposed that Hezbollah’s two ministers not attend so that the cabinet could approve the funding for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

Hezbollah according to the Kuwaiti al Anbaa daily rejected his proposal stressing that its ministers will attend all the cabinet’s sessions.

Suleiman according to media reports is exerting efforts to resolve the crisis that is threatening the collapse of the cabinet.

U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly on Monday voiced the United States’ concern that Lebanon would suffer serious consequences if it fails to fulfill its commitments to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

The current Lebanese government is dominated by the Iranian and Syrian-backed Hezbollah and its allies, who are insisting that the country cease all cooperation with STL.

Last week, PM Najib Mikati made it very clear that he will resign if the cabinet fails to secure funding for the tribunal.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon was created by the United Nations Security Council in 2007 , at the request of the Government of Lebanon to investigate the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

On January 12, 2011 Hezbollah and allies with the help of the Shiite minister in the cabinet that represented president Michel Suleiman overthrew the government of former PM Saad Hariri over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s imminent indictment.

STL issued the indictments and arrest warrants on June 30. Two of the suspects Badreddine and Ayyash are reportedly senior members of Hezbollah and played leading roles in the assassination while the other two Hezbollah members Hassan Aneissy and Assad Sabra played a supporting role in the execution of the assassination.

“No Lebanese government will be able to carry out any arrests whether in 30 days, 30 years or even 300 years.” Nasrallah said following the announcement of the indictments.

It appears now that STL could also result in the fall of the current government

Lebanon should contribute 49 percent of the STL’s annual funding but so far has not contributed anything in 2011 fiscal year

It is pretty clear that HA are out to destroy the country and keep it in limbo for as long as they can.
That is the result of the alliance with underdeveloped and uncivilised nations.
If syria and iran are the standard, what hope do we have for HA?

No ‘e’ in homos libnan1 … and for a female, it’s a ‘dyke’.  But you can say ‘gay’ for both sexes. 🙂
Just being politically correct, of course. 😉
Maybe because you don’t want to listen to the USA they sent a woman, knowing that you don’t want to listen to (hear from) women anyway – so there should be no animosity.
But I think she’s stating simple fact, not threatening. Certainly she said nothing about 150,000 missiles … or sinking Lebanese fishing boats. I believe she’s talking about respect from a world which expects some – when it sends the help it was asked for. Not filling contractual obligations tends to make future help impossible to receive.

      1. 5th, homos applies to both males and females. Your correction is well taken. All, substitute homoes with homos.

Ok Libnan. Thanks. 😉  But the ‘gay’ woman I know calls herself a Dyke quite happily.
Good thing I’m not homophobic. When we have lunch together, we both admire the same bodies going by. 🙂
