Roads in Beirut’s suburb of Dahyieh blocked

The Moqdad family members blocked roads in Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahyieh, National News Agency reported on Sunday .

The report added that the roads were blocked after security forces removed an illegal construction project in Jbeil’s town of Lassa and arrested a Moqdad family member.

According to the report, security forces are trying to resolve the issue.

The town of Lassa in the Jbeil district which is predominantly Shiite has been transformed into a Hezbollah military base, informed sources told al-Joumhourya newspaper last July.

The sources said that the Shiite party has dug tunnels and set up shelters in the town and installed cameras that would take photos of vehicles and drivers.

Also last July , a team from MTV were planning to shoot a news report in Lassa ( where a Maronite delegation was also assaulted and prevented from surveying a piece of land belonging to the Maronite Patriarchate last week) when Hezbollah gunmen broke their cameras and prevented it from carrying out its task.

Commenting on the attack against MTV , the attack against the Maronite delegation and Hezbollah’s military base in Lassa Phalange party MP Sami Gemayel said last July that Lebanon needs to be “protected from its Resistance.” ( in reference to Hezbollah)

In August, the residents of Lassa , the majority of whose residents support Hezbollah , obstructed the work of an Internal Security Forces patrol that was attempting to halt the illegal construction of a house.

Isn’t that an invasion of privacy? Keep up the good work guys, take Lebanon back to pre eighteenth century. Europe was more civilised in 1250 while the Barbarians were ravaging it than Lebanon is now.
