The Lebanese cabinet approved during its meeting on Wednesday night the start of oil and gas drilling onshore, Information Minister Walid Daouq told the press following the cabinet session.
“A committee chaired by Prime Minister Najib Mikati was formed… aiming to review the rules of oil drilling in Lebanese waters as well as start oil drilling onshore,” Daouq said
“The government allocated funds for the renovation and development of Tripoli’s sea port,” Daouq added.
Daouq also said that the cabinet approved the hiring of teachers for public schools on a contractual basis.
