US embassy: Possible surge in demonstartion in Lebanon

Share:

The US Embassy in Lebanon on Friday warned its citizens of the “possibility of a surge in demonstrations in Beirut and throughout Lebanon in the coming days.”

The US warning coincides with the Palestinian bid to apply for UN membership at the UN Security Council later in the day.

Washington has opposed the Palestinian membership bid and said it would veto any such move in the Security Council.

The US Embassy also advised US citizens to avoid large public gatherings or demonstrations as well as Palestinian refugee camps.

  4. Demonstrations? No open space to demonstrate. Even sidewalks are used as parking spots.

Slightly wider streets in Tripoli, and a lovely long walkway along the shore … best cappuccino near the end of the walk 🙂
