March 14 MP Mustafa Allouch said in an interview with Al-Mustaqbal newspaper published on Thursday that “the international community is now at a point in which it has to take maximum measures to protect the Syrian people.”
Allouch said that “there is no doubt that the Arab league is in a very poor shape… after providing some hope with its actions over Libya’s situation it has become helpless toward the situation in Syria… add to this the Arab countries silence on the situation. This is why I see no reason to call on the Arab league to take action because it would to nowhere.”
“The Arab league must have at least condemned the crimes committed by the Syrian regime against its people and demanded Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stop the violence against,” added Allouch.
