Jumblatt: Attack against UNIFIL aimed at creating vacuum in s. Lebanon

Share:

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt said Thursday that Tuesday’s attack against French UNIFIL troops was suspicious and aimed at creating “vacuum,” in South Lebanon.

“This does not mean UNIFIL will leave completely …but there might be [a chance] someone would subject Lebanon to threats again, and this serves Israel,” he told As-Safir newspaper..

Jumblatt called last week on the former PM Saad Hariri and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to meet.

“How can I not speak with Hariri with all what he represents when I have and will always call for dialogue, especially between Hariri and Nasrallah?” Jumblatt was quoted by An Nahar as saying

Jumblatt also said that he he will not “give up” and will continue to call for dialogue.

  1. Hezb’ullah wants UNIFIL out so that it can have clear shots and aim at Israel.  But then again, international peace keepers never do their job.

1)They were supposed to disarm Hezb’ullah after their attack on Israel from Lebanese territory in 2006 and then at least Lebanon and Israel would have a chance at peace.  After all there is no REAL territorial dispute between the great Cedar and Israel,
2)They ran away when Nssaer in Egypt was going to attack Israel again.

3)They allowed the Tutsis in Somalis to be massacred.

    4) They ran away from the Philadelphia route in southern Gaza.

I would love for the UNIFIL to leave the South open to Israel so that it will roast Hizballa.  The only problem is the stench of rotten wild pigs of dead Hizballa bodies.

Actually, ALL but the LAF are supposed to lay down their weapons. Have you read 1701? From 2006? Here’s a bit …

Emphasizing the need for an end of violence, but at the same time emphasizing
the need to address urgently the causes that have given rise to the current crisis,
including by the unconditional release of the abducted Israeli soldiers,

Mindful of the sensitivity of the issue of prisoners and encouraging the efforts
aimed at urgently settling the issue of the Lebanese prisoners detained in Israel,
Welcoming the efforts of the Lebanese Prime Minister and the commitment of
the Government of Lebanon, in its seven-point plan, to extend its authority over its
territory, through its own legitimate armed forces, such that there will be no
weapons without the consent of the Government of Lebanon and no authority other
than that of the Government of Lebanon,

welcoming also its commitment to a
United Nations force that is supplemented and enhanced in numbers, equipment,
mandate and scope of operation, and bearing in mind its request in this plan for an
immediate withdrawal of the Israeli forces from southern Lebanon,
Determined to act for this withdrawal to happen at the earliest, ….

Whole thing available on the internet – for those who wish to know.

Hizbollah wants the unifl out NOT to have a clear shot at israel but to have free passage to their arms from the syrian border.
