Two badly injured Syrians illegally crossed into Lebanon Saturday where they were rushed to hospital for treatment, state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.

NNA said the two men from the Syrian village of Tal Kalakh were found on a bank of Nahr al-Kabeer in the northern border area of Bokeyaa, suffering from bruises and wounds.

The agency said they were taken to a hospital in Qbayyat town. One of the men was in critical condition in intensive care while the other was in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

NNA said the two were placed under police guard as they had entered Lebanon illegally as the authorities continued their investigations into the incident. It gave no further details.

1500 Syrians fled to Lebanon from Tal Kalakh last week and about 250 Syrians fled to Turkey ,
