Libyan rebels have entered the government-controlled city of Ajdabiyah from the east, Al Jazeera television reported on Friday, quoting rebels.
Many fighters belonging to forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi were held hostage after fierce fighting with rebels, the television channel said. Pro-Gaddafi forces were now mainly positioned in the west of Ajdabiyah, it added. Reuters
