Islamists killed 11 Coptic Christians in Egypt, report

With Internet access now restored, the Assyrian news service has been able to report that an attack on Christians took place in Egypt at about 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, in the village of Sharona near Maghagha, which is in Minya Province. Two Coptic families were attacked in their homes and eleven people, including children, were killed. Four others survived, despite having been shot.

The report states that the families knew their attackers, Islamist militants divided into two groups who accessed the Coptic homes through the roofs of their neighbors’ houses. The survivors say the masked attackers of the first home were led by Ibrahim Hamdy Ibrahim. They killed Joseph Waheeb Massoud, his wife Samah, their 15-year-old daughter Christine, and their eight-year-old son Fady Youssef.

The other masked group was led by Yasser Essam Khaled. They killed Saleeb Ayad Mayez, his wife Zakia, their four-year-old son Joseph and three-year-old daughter Justina, his 23-year-old sister Amgad, their mother Zakia, and Saniora Fahim.

Though there has been violence and looting enough throughout Egypt in recent days, these attacks do not appear to have been simple robberies. All indications are that these were deliberate attacks on Christians.

    78 persons of my family were killed in Ma’aser El Chouf, Lebanon, for
    one reason only, they were Christians. I don’t know how I can forgive?
    The only thing Jesus didn’t say not to do is defend your life. Christians
    every where should defend their lives by any mean they can afford or
    find. Democracy, love, freedom, etc., won’t stop these animals from killing
    Christians. Only lethal forces can.

      Eli, the devil will always attack the followers of Jesus Christ, whether disguised in Islamists group or Druze or other. We defend ourselves by living within the teachings of the Bible. People who live the bible and listen to God and keep in constant communication with our lord (prayer), Jesus will protect them of any evil and they will not be in areas where violence against Christians exist and the Devil will not dare to approach them because they have God within them, and if they die they are with Christ our Lord. But people who do not know God, and commit all sort of atrocities and sins (stealing, cheating, killing, etc…) these even if they are born Christians (only by default because humans – as animals – have the capacity to create life) are not real Christians and they will be treated the way they treat other and worse. The real Christians whom Jesus Christ protects are the ones living HIS word and have been born again in HIM.
      However, I understand your sorrow on your relatives, but you MUST forgive because HE taught us to not only forgive but to LOVE OUR ENNEMIES.
      When you go back to Maasser El-Chouf be kind, humble and respectful with all the inhabitants and try to give some, those who you feel are ready, a Bible to read. It may be the best gift you could have given them in all their lives. Afterall, the Druze and the Muslims do not know Jesus Christ and do not his LIGHT and POWER. You know, or I surely hope you do.

I have friend who are Muslim and they are forgiving and loving but these political driven morans are going to bring ISLAM to its knees because we can only take so much and revolt will come.       I hear you my friend, I’m from lower shouf and the same thing happened in our town. Old peaceful people stayed behind thinking that our neighbors (Sunni and Druse) will not harm them. They chopped them like animals. They destroyed the schools that educated them. It was all because the so called Christian leaders (Geagea and Gemayel) cowboys were competing who was going to be the Christian leader. They allied themselves with the wrong bastards and in turn the innocent Christian population suffered.
      The Shites, HA in particular, have proven that they are the only non Christian sect that respect Christianity and appreciate their neighbors. WE SHALL NEVER EVER SUFFER WHAT WE SUFFERED. My Mom will spank (with a Philly cheese steak) anyone that say the Geagea name. Now you know where we live ….:). Follow the alliance with HA and we will prosper again. Hell with the rest.

      Hey Eli, same thing here, lost a few cousins and family members for no reason whatsoeever except that they were Xtian.
      Jesus did not tell us to defend our lives, but to turn the cheek.
      Well my friend, with all due respect to Jesus, I stopped believing that after my cousins were massacred in cold blood. RIP to all of them.
      What I do believe in now though is ten eyes for each eye taken, even though that will not make me a Xtian (as my mom says, then I will start a new religion as a defender of Xtianity. If its not in our religion to defend ourselves, then someone has to do it.

Like druze area they camp there in order to intimidate them when it comes times to vote for March 8th MP’s. we saw in Tripoli arming Sunnis against Sunnis and also aiding the Alwaites in Jabel Mohsen against the Sunnis. We saw them roam the streets of Beirut just before they toppled Harriri and forced him to leave even though they promised they will not resign according to Doha Agreements. we saw them attack West Beirut in 2008 and cursed the Prophet Mohamed.yes we need thugs like them to protect our neighborhoods and streets. HA is no different than AL Qaada. Except the later has more cruel and direct approach. HA gets political by force to achieve their agenda.

          My dad used to drive us 2 hours when we were kids from the Shouf to Nabati in order to experience Ashura and offer our condolences. I don’t think you’ve ever experienced it. It will definitely move you. So next time Ashura is being celebrated, I encourage you to attend where ever it’s being celibrated. These are the people that will never forget the suffering of Hussein. I wish all Christians will do the same thing and never forget the suffering of Christ on the hands of the Jews. Also the suffering of Christian in the Shouf on the hands of their neighbors. You might not like Aoun personality but he is on the right track with his alliances.

          Marc, I don’t follow Aoun blindly. I’ve criticized Aoun and HA before, they both made mistakes. They are learning from their mistakes, look what happened when they threatened Jumblat (the only language Jumblat understant). So now they matured enough to speak language without a shot. I wish they would have shot him instead such an Israeli bastard. Go read history, you’ll see why I support the Aoun – HA alliance.

      You can’t just split the country up. Its not as easy as it seems.
      Copts live everywhere in Egypt and they will not leave their homes to go and live in a setup state like the jews did in israel.
      All they need is a government that sees and protects them equally as the rest of the religions there. I have been to Egypt twice and it is a beautiful country. All of them are very patriotic, copts, sunnis, Greek orthodox, etc and to a lot of them Egypt comes first unlike a lot of Lebanese.
      You see, what I respect a lot about the Egyptians, is that anything that has to do with them is Egptian. For example, they speak Egyptian, they eat Egyptian food, they watch Egyptian movies, they are Egyptian even before they are Arabs.

          Like I said before, they are proud from where they come from, eg: Alexandria copts, Cairo copts, Sa3eed copts etc.etc.

        it is like the christians in france do you see the islamist bombing a church evry day in france and killing 20 civilians? the ansewer is no because the frensh governement protect the peple well but it looks like this egyptian governement hav,nt been protecting the coptics for years and years they need there own state no return on that demand

          I agree with you are saying, but if a legitimate government like the French government is established, then the copts do not have anything to worry about.
          Like I said before, they are proud from where they come from, eg: Alexandria copts, Cairo copts, Sa3eed copts etc.etc.
          It is like telling me to accept one of the Lebanese Forces policies to divide Lebanon into cantons and each canton will home its own sects. Well, I for one absolutely disagree. I will never give up my home and land in the Shouf to go and live in Keserwan or Matn and especially because of religious reasons.

    in reply to lbnan 1 get your fact wright bro it wasn;t geage who did that to the christain in the moutain in was the israels when they where letting jumblatt getting arns and they didn;t let the LF getting any and the killing of the christans people was done by the palestinine lewa2 el yarmouk the drouze where just dancing on the body i don;t like geage myself neither gemeal amin but they have nothing to do with killing the christain in the moutain and if thats the reason you chose nasrallah and aoun look deep down and see how many christain are they killing daily if we need to make a country we need to stop thinking from a relgion base give what for god to god and give what for your country to nasrallah and aoun and we will end up outside lebanon or in some mazeble bel dahye aoun did nothing for lebanon except destroying it and if he was in any other country he will get hanged from his ball thats if he have any
