ISTANBUL Jan 20 (Reuters) – Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Thursday he does not believe Lebanese parties are close to an agreement on solving a political crisis.
Ministers from Turkey and Qatar suspended mediation efforts on Thursday after holding two days of talks with Lebanon’s rival politicians in Beirut, including Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri and Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Davutoglu told a news conference in Istanbul after returning from the Lebanese capital that his country was ready to help if there was a new approach from the parties. Reuters
